A talented and well-coached Hoosier team. They did a great job hedging and disrupting our rhythm. I was glad to see us muster the 8-0 run in the
fourth quarter. For us to compete and go up against bigger teams the way we are tells me just how good our coaching staff is. So great to see the
crowd and the Orange Krush in the house. Stay with us basketball fans. The best is yet to come. Go Illini.

My very mild mannered Illini friend just texted, “I got into it pretty good with a nice IU lady sitting next to me after the game. What happened was the IU coach took her team to center court to celebrate. Classless. Lots of Booos. She couldn’t understand.
She said they had a meeting out there. I said at center court???? Then she said it was a momentous game for their coach so they should celebrate. I said a class coach celebrates in their locker room and not on the visiting teams center court. And Shauna was pissed. She tried to talk like she always does and their team disrupted that so she said two words and literally dropped the mike...”

Not down at all after this game going to 5-3 in the conference. All 3 of those losses come to top teams in the nation and ladies have taken care of business with the other 5 conference games. We have a pretty favorable schedule left with only remaining ranked games against Michigan and Maryland. Rest of the teams we play are under .500 in conference play besides Nebraska which is at .500 currently.

Our depth is just not there this year which was expected. Ladies will be fatigued and have showed it at times. Hopefully we can avoid any big injuries or that would be devastating.

I love McKenzie, Cook and Bryant as our guards. That being said majority of the time we are undersized at those spots. It just shows more when you play real talented teams with size.

Moore-McNeil 5'11
Parrish 6'2
Berger 6'0

McKenzie 5'10
Cook 5'6
Bryant 5'6

Big effort from the team tonight! The first few minutes were back and forth and neither team could miss. Illinois went up 19-10 at one point and the crowd was going nuts. IU called a time out and settled down. They made some adjustments to cut off our guards who had been driving straight down the lane. After that it was pretty rough until the 4th. Got into foul trouble - Bostic sitting was brutal - and their perimeter D kept us from getting into a rhythm from the 3-point line. Couldn't stop Holmes. Damn she's good. IU was shooting nearly 60% well into the 3rd. Not sure where they ended up, but it seemed like they couldn't miss for long stretches. The 4th Q comeback was fun, but I think our girls just ran out of steam. The refs were pretty bad, crowd was on them all night. No nuggets. Sadness. Overall, though, it was a ton of fun even with the loss. Great to see so many folks out on a rainy January week night! The team deserves the support, and when they get more depth, watch out.

We'll remember that IU center court BS, too. See ya next year, Hoosiers!

Maybe we will get another shot at them in the Conference Tourney!! I hope Hawk and TSJ made note of the little center court party.

Why? I’d love for it to be on regular BTN and would watch, but OSU men are playing Neb on BTN. So you would have been fine if BTN had shown a game between 2 ranked women’s teams on Monday instead of the Illini-Minn game? It’s not like the game tonight isn’t being broadcast.
With the money they're making you'd think they could figure out a way to support regionally. I get it was on plus, but that is a streaming service that most people don't subscribe too. And TBH I do think if you have a couple ranked teams, regardless of gender, you'd like to showcase that product...IMO

Understand it is a rainy day but hope this does not impact the basketball faithful heading to the SFC. How great to be anticipating a WBB
game between two top 25 teams. Let's come out firing on all cylinders Illini!!
It was raining heavily as we arrived. A young mom was in line in front of us with three little girls. As she passed through the metal detector the attendant called her out for a pair of binoculars (those small opera glass kind). Said that she could not enter with them and she'd have to take them back to her car. She asked if he could just set them aside and she'd pick them up on the way out. She didn't want to trek back out in the pouring rain with three little girls. She was denied. I attend athletic events at the university constantly. Never been told that binoculars were not allowed and use them regularly at Memorial Stadium, the Armory and Demirjian. Never tried at the Assembly Hall but I was surprised. Any clue why they are not allowed?

Honestly, what would that have hurt to let her set those aside?

Oh, wait I got it…the mom hid an explosive 🧨 device in the girls binoculars? The attendant was afraid the little girl might hurl them at an innocent 🦓 zebra? The attendant was worried the little
girl might be able to get see the game??
Yeah, I got nuthin’

I understand there’s gotta be some
hard lines drawn….Rules…Laws…Social Compact…that sort of thing but geez.
What a strange place to draw that line.

I wonder if that attendant’s ever been traipsing around in the wet and the cold with underage kids. That’s just dumb IMO.

I'm certain the attendant was just doing their job, but that needs to change. If I can't come up with some pretty decent seats and can't bring the binoculars for sitting in the nosebleeds, I'm not coming.
