Lots of great stuff coming out of this one
Absolutely on Brynn - thank you! Hayden definitely has potential.Highlighting the emergence of Brynn Shoup-Hill. With our injury list, she is playing a huge role and doing so with aplomb. Can’t understate how important it is that she be a solid contributor, and she has been able to play long minutes with good fitness and do a bunch of things, particularly little things, to help us build and sustain leads.
Look at her impact on this defensive possession last night–comes from the weak side to poke a ball loose… recovers. Helps in the lane, deflects a pass under the basket, closes out and blocks the three point shot.

The box score lists two blocks for Brynn, but I thought I saw two--both on three point line closeouts.
Following on the topic of our depleted front line, Hayven has a long way to go in her development but I think I espy a little improvement each game.
The Kentucky game is not home at the SFC. It will played in Nashville, TN as part of the Music City Classic.Just thinking..............
I believe it's true that (based upon the current AP rankings) we just might be favored in 14 of the next 16 games --- except for the December 8th road game at Ohio State, and maybe the home game vs Kentucky this coming Wednesday. KY might be a "pickem" at home.
Is it possible we're going to be a Top 10 team at some point this season?
Looks like a fairly expensive subscription will be necessary to watch these two games.Good luck to the ladies this week as they travel to Nashville, TN for 2 games in the Music City Classic. We *should* improve to 6-0 on Tuesday with a matchup against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Perhaps our toughest test on the season comes on Wednesday, as we play Kentucky. The Wildcats are currently 4-0 and are ranked #15 in the AP poll and #16 in the coaches poll.
Hope to see a good contingent of orange & blue fans in the stands.

If the Trevecca Trojan Fieldhouse has free public wi-fi, should I stream it live on Twitter?Looks like a fairly expensive subscription will be necessary to watch these two games.

Yes we are and a tournament team with grit and moxie to be a sweet sixteen and I believe...if we get the bench back,an elite eight straight from the home of the original March Madness basketball theme.Just thinking..............

Our current lack of depth bothers me for these two games back-to-back. Hopefully we get a player or two back from injury this week.Good luck to the ladies this week as they travel to Nashville, TN for 2 games in the Music City Classic. Part of the reason (not all) Shoup Hill had limited minutes last year was due to an injured wrist that impacted her stroke.Green & Co went back to making the non-conference schedule easy
Season before Green got here we could beat Quad 4 cupcakes only. First season of Green we dominated Quad 3-4 games and horrible against Quad 1-2 level teams. Last season good again against Quad 3-4 teams and started winning Quad 1-2 games(below .500 each but competitive). This year the potential is there to make the tournament and possibly win a game/few.
Pretty much same has stayed true for 3 seasons now. Green will ride Cook, Bostic, Bryant and McKenzie for major minutes. Dolan and Brown-Hagger are solid guards that will see quality minutes. Not often you get 4 starters back for this much time together and I love it.
The other thing that has stayed true for 3 seasons and my concern is injuries and post play/size. We need some young size to produce this season plus hopefully Wallace/Bollin can come back and contribute in the rotation. Bostic is a given, after that I am a bit concerned.
I was not fond of Shoup-Hill starting last season over Hobby. It changed because Shoup-Hill was ineffective as a starter. I love Shoup-Hill off the bench but we don't have a choice at the moment. There was a reason Shoup-Hill didn't sniff double digit minutes the last 2+months of the season. Post player size who is more finesse, couldn't hit outside shots and slow of foot on D. Foul trouble is always a problem if she is seeing 25-35 minutes consistently. If we get more size back than this becomes less of an issue and more rotation of size.
I love the nucleus of this team and Green & Co are building this thing up......
Majority of it was due to her being ineffective and Hobby took her spot. Going from 25 minutes first season, to half that last season and back up to 25 minutes this season is due to lack of options/effectiveness. I love Shoup-Hill coming off the bench.....we are thin at 5 spot if she starts the whole season and averages 25 minutes a game. Hopefully the post rotation opens up at worst when Big Ten play starts full-time.Part of the reason (not all) Shoup Hill had limited minutes last year was due to an injured wrist that impacted her stroke.
Well we have obscene experience on our team....A d the longest winning streak in the country at 10, with a huge test against Kentucky this week. Its like we are playing with one hand tied given all of our injuries...b10 WBB got a lot tougher adding top top 5 teams UCLA and USC. We play at both of them in Feb. Just watched UCLA take S Carolina apart.
They said S Carolina had 11 McDAA on team and UCLA had 9. I think we have one. That is an obscene talent gap.
