Seemed like Adalia was trying too hard for the hometown fans. She missed several layups. We must get our players back.

Our ladies got robbed: final free fouls - 23 against Illinois, 12 against Minnesota. The refs did a poor job managing the game. Illinois was up with a few minutes left, but the foul differential kicked in. Sad to see McKenzie foul out for her last game in Minnesota in front of friends and family after a strong effort.

This is the second gameina row the the refs have given the other team the win. Nail was still up 3 or 4 and KB had and 1 on clear blocking but was called for charge followed by 4 or 5 more quuck whistles with a couple of flops

Good chance we don't make the NCAA Tourney or limp in if the injury situation doesn't improve in the next few weeks.

Injury bug and lack of quality post play(besides Bostic) is killing us! Love the team but Cook is the playmaker who makes the offense run
Little chance this team makes the Big Dance this year unless Cook returns soon, and Green made it sound like that ain't happening.

If Cook doesn’t return we’re going to need Wallace to really step it up if we want to make the tourney. And if Dolan doesn’t return Allen needs to at least become serviceable. It’s looking pretty bleak right now.

We have 3 above average B1G players. Hagger-Brown can somewhat hold her own. And then there’s a drop off. That’s not nearly enough.

Get well Makira. Get well Gretchen. And step it up Berry. That’s all I ask!

It was a tough loss. Some reflections after attending the game. We had another slow start. I think we missed about six bunnies in a row. We just were not shooting well. However, our D with only a few miscues was really tough. It kept us in the game. Watching KB up close going up against much bigger players and still coming away with double digit rebounds was so impressive. Her points were hard to come by in the paint today, but she hit two big threes. Berry was a spark offensively and also some good work on the glass. She is gaining important experience that we are going to need going forward.
I held my breath when Jasmine hit the floor so hard. Please not another injury. She had an ice pack on her neck and was receiving treatment on her lower back but came back into the game. Such a tough player. I spoke with Autumn after the game and she said she would be OK. Jas has been so important with Makira out. Dal played so hard today and I know how much this last trip to play in the Barn meant to her. The shots on the drives to the rim just would not fall and oddly enough she was rarely fouled. There was a huge foul call discrepancy at the end of the game. Why does that always seem to happen to teams on the road. So close but just not able to close it out. I stayed after the game to extend my encouragement. I debated if I should as I knew as competitors they felt like this was a game they should have won. To a one they were gracious to this old WBB alum and thanked me for my support. I think the world of these top drawer young women who represent our school with such class. So hoping they can overcome this unfortunate rash of injuries.
I did enjoy running into Jenna Smith who was at the game with her parents. She had just returned from playing ball in China and is now retiring as a player. She is not certain what her next steps will be. She was impressed with KB on the boards. One great Illini rebounder giving respect to another.
On to the Iowa game. We need to get off to quicker starts and keep playing our tough D. Lets GO Illini!

Thank you. Please continue such write-ups. Loren Tate on the radio this morning simply said we are just "short=handed"

This is just a thought and I have no information. Starting to wonder if it could be a concussion issue. She had one last season and she is not afraid to head to the rim amidst the tall trees. Another one this year? I see her shooting but never where she would have possible contact. Just a guess.
One of our best volleyball players, Caroline Barnes, retired mid-season because of concussion issues.

A concussion is exactly what I have been guessing also. I also THOUGHT I spotted a small square bandage (bandaid?) on her right forehead several weeks ago?

Silver lining - great chance for young players - Smith Berry and Allen to get minutes. I would be throwing Smith out there 20 mpg - trial by fire!
We are going to need her when UCLA brings their 6'7" All American center Lauren Betts to town.
