Need to work on dealing with the press. But give NW credit, they did a good job with their press.
Been a problem since the injuries. Cook has been our primary ball handler for years and Dolan has helped. With them out, that leaves Bryant with most of the responsibility for bringing the ball up the court but she also needs to be one of our primary scorers.

The difference in how much I care about the men's and women's teams right now is pretty darn stark. With the men, we have almost an entirely new roster. It feels like they're mercenaries, just a bunch of guys making a one-year pit stop on their basketball journeys. Nothing about the way they play feels like it's for the culture, let alone the school. At times, it looks and feels like a pickup game where winning is optional.

Meanwhile, the women's team feels like a team. When you're watching them, you see them fighting like heII for their teammates and coaches. You see how much every game means to them. They embody what's great about college athletics—the chance to watch the same players for a brief time growing and becoming better players and people. And the thing is, this roster is also mostly transfers. Out of our starters, 4 of 5 didn't start here. Only two players on the whole roster, KB and Dal, were here before Shuana got here. And yet, they're every bit as connected as you could possibly have hoped for. That's a testament to the program Coach Green is running and the players who have so thoroughly bought into what's happening here.

After last night, I'm excited to watch a team that represents the best of the University of Illinois. Last time we played NW, we beat them by 25 in Evanston. Take care of business tonight. No let up after the big win this past weekend.
So true. To add to your point about how the women embody whats great about college athletics. There were two plays this year that had me smiling. The first happened a couple games ago. One of the opposing players I think it was Grace VanSlooten from MSU kicked the ball out of bounds. The ref didnt see it and awarded the ball to us. She ran over and told the ref that he was wrong she kicked it last. The second one happened tonight when one of the NW players lost her shoe during the action and Adalia picked it up and handed it to her. What great sportsmanship.

I caught the soulful shoe incident too. Also, players helping up opposing team players from the floor is not uncommon in the women's game.

Up 30-12 with 7:30 left in half. we are really outclassing them. UW's student personnel having a hard time with the onscreen score as they continually credit baskets, then too much, then takeaway, ....
