1st half, not sure why, but Illinois tried to either dribble in or force it inside. Perimeter was open all game. They were smashing that square peg through a round hole.

2nd half got more going in transition and playing Jackson and Guyton at same time helped. Finally moved the ball around the perimeter.

When I was younger and in Chicago there was a school on the Westside named Marshall that always had a small team formula that won tons of wins and tons of titles..Small ball can be effective in the women's game even today..Heck it seems to have an effect on the men's squad as well...

Ugly first quarter. We had no idea on how to attack their zone. We either turned it over while trying to force it inside or we chucked up a three and missed every one of them. Got better in the second half. Our man-to-man defense was stifling. Webber was a good find in the portal. Dolan with a rough shooting night.

When I listened to the press conference Coach Green almost sounded like a loss .. Maybe we could have beaten the team by 60 but by 29 ain't bad..I did expect this team to shoot better but we did cut the fab five freshmen in half when the Aussie sharpshooter and our future pro from Brazil went down...It's crazy how this women's team takes these subtractions (All out defensive exertion does have a physical price.),and stay resilient..This team has wrinkles to iron out but I think it will work out.

Wallace, Parchment, Jackson, Guyton, Dolan, Weber should be the order of scoring options, IMO.

They got the message this game against Le Moyne

Complete waste of a scheduling spot. 22 steals??? What can a team learn against "competition" so thoroughly overmatched?

OSU in the same boat, won by 98 today! Bellarmine (next up for the ladies) put up a fight and only lost by 63 to Louisville at least.

Why was such a weak opponent on the schedule?
Baylor, Pitt, St John’s also played them. That could be informative if we cross paths with any of them.

Otherwise, it’s a feel good game. I don’t dismiss the need to see the basketball going into the bucket or plays working as they are called. It’s good for the psyche.

I believe you could put all those teams together and it still wouldn't be very competitive.

If playing this level of cupcakes is part of the teaching model, then fine, but I'm not to say coach Green is not a good coach,in favt I think she is a great coach who will a bigger opportunity one day(unless we lock in all the instate home run talent)These kind of cupcakes are not really worth the overpriced practice time on schedule....lol..
