Need to develop bench so our starters dont burn out
Vs purdue

Destiny 33
Gretchen 33
Jasmine 28
Berry 36
cearah 28

Maddy 22
Letty 12
Aaliyuh 8
Naomi 0

I would
Reduce Berry from 36 to 28
Reduce Destiny from 33 to 28
Reduce Gretchen from 33 to 28

Give 18 minutes to bench
I do believe we can swing an extra big some time and I think Aliyah playing more is a matter of time..I think like long minutes equals likely injury . The reason Lety didn't play longer..She really needs conditioning and skill work but she gives us a huge ceiling .Alliyah just got stuck behind a pt gd wo does her job very well

The good news is that she didn’t play because Destiny did so well…

Going small with both in probably not a good idea especially with Maddie also playing so well. unless she’s a lights out 3 point shooter?
I was pleasantly surprised by how good Destiny played this game. Offense ran completely different when she was in the game. Very impressive player. Ball handling, pace, patience, pass, reb, scoring, def all good. Hard to sit her on the bench. It was good to see AG come back in 2nd half with better mins, first half was not good.

There were defensive issues that have to be corrected. Too many easy layups. low post pick n roll was tough to guard. Not too concerned with defending their center even though they were like 15-17, seemed part of game plan to not give up 3s, but have to get def reb. In general.

Defensive rebounding needs to be much better. Have to figure out a better plan. In other matchups, I could see Cierra and Lety playing on their floor together. But with Purdue playing 1 center and seemingly 4 players that could hit the 3, better to not let Maddison Layden hyphen Zey be guarded by Cierra. Would’ve tried Hayven at 5 as she was more physical last year and if fouled the Purdue center, not a good stroke, but how’s her rebounding?

Rotation appears to be 8 with 1 guard, wing, center getting minutes. Seems about right. AG needs more practice time after being injured. Different matchups = different spread in minutes I think.

Lost the fourth quarter again today.
Phil Jackson Laker methodology. Win every quarter, win every postion, etc. Everybody who plays get rated every game so they can improve or be happy.

I agree with you regarding the minutes, but with the most obvious exception of Maddie, I have not seen anyone whose performance warrants more minutes. I give Guyton a pass for now because of her injury, whatever that may be, but I don’t notice any physical limitations when she is in the game. Coach Green, like every other coach, will play the players she thinks will win the game. The last thing on her mind during a tight conference game is being tired at the end of the season. If that means playing Berry, Dolan, and Jackson 35 minutes, so be it. The time to develop the bench is practice and during the non-conference schedule. I am hopeful that someone steps up, as it is a long season and injuries and foul trouble will play a part.

What the team needs is better def rebounding, and not turning the ball over. Minutes will come if any player does that better.

Could use a 3rd player to play center-defend and rebound- and can sometimes move Cierra to the 4. And a rebounding wing.

Maryland is down a few players...It would be sweet to extend a win streak over that team. Areal surge in the rankings.. I believe a win against them would have us ranked between 17 and 20th... No lower than 21.

Coach Green can barely hold her excitement about the team. Of we got a win over Maryland I'm not sure she will burst with pride or Bear down for Michigan State next.

The only negative from today’s game was Guyton only playing 7 minutes. She needs to get to the point to where she can contribute in the tough games. We need her to be the player she was billed to be. She is a crucial if we are to reach our ceiling.
I don't think that she's fully healthy yet. She spent quite a bit of time on the bike when she wasn't on the floor.

Awesome analysis. But i don’t see the defensive rebounding improving against elite teams. We have quickness, but lack strong, athletic front line players. Wallace and Parchment are terrific basketball players but don’t seem like power forwards.

Unfortunately our projected power forward is out for the season. Freshman Manuella Alves is a strong rebounder at 6'3'"
We can also hope Benson continues to progress and earns more playing time. Rebounding is her strength.

I agree we need that one 5 star stud to join us next year and Shauna will be cooking
Uh we have two upgrades on the IR right now..I think there are only 3 5 stars left.We probably need to get really in on 27.I think we only have 1 senior .But 28 will be a big turnover....A great season would help us in the portal..

Heard anything about a '28 from Quincy named Khloe Nicholson? Seems to have a lot of offers. We sometimes don't fare well recruiting that part of the state

Looking forward to the Maryland game today. Not expecting a win, but think it will be a really good litmus test to see how this team competes against a really solid team.
