Jasmine has been playing very well of late. She had a terrific game at Iowa. I watched her encourage her teammates in huddles and keep them loose with her smiles and little dance moves. She is a calming influence. So great to have Maddie and Jasmine as upperclassmen who have experienced post season play.
I missed the Iowa game but last night was absolutely the best game I've ever seen Brown-Hagger play.

ESPN Bracketology has moved the Illini up to a #7 seed overnight!! I wonder if an appearance in the Big 10 semi-finals puts us in the conversation for a #6 seed?
It would be nice to get a #7 seed just to keep building the program. But a #7 @ LSU vs. a #8 @ Texas doesn't seem to be much difference in difficulty.

I would be really surprised if Illinois got a #7 seed and USC (Cal) got an #8 or #9 seed. USC's metrics are quite a bit higher

Just thinking about it...............all top 25 teams are inherently a #6 seed or better. I feel like we're in that vicinity. The Selection Committee is its own governing body and has no links to ESPN's Bracketology. So there's no telling where they have us placed right now on March 6th prior to the Big 10 quarterfinals.

I think it's totally conceivable that we're playing for a 6-seed tonight. If so, the path gets much easier!

** 9-9 in the ridiculously competitive Big 10
** 22 total wins overall, if we can upset Iowa
** Recent wins this week against both Iowa and Michigan St on a neutral court

I hope the ladies can revenge the Iowa game but it’s a tall tale against a fresh Iowa team. I hope we can get at least 1 more win going into the NCAAs

When I saw that Christy Winters-Scott was doing this game, I was actually shocked. Her son (Jordan Scott) is a starter on the Michigan State mens BKB team. How can she NOT be biased calling a Spartan game? C'mon, Big Ten Network ... did you really think this one through?

I always listen to Illini announcers , was she biased towards scUMST ?................

I unwittingly watched/listened to the TV broadcast exclusively, and I knew nothing of the broadcasters' allegiances.

I'd say they were pretty neutral and balanced. (Robbie Hummel has been doing several Purdue games this season, too. I also saw Jim Jackson doing an Ohio St. game. It happens....)

this is why coach green is elite, vanslooten killed them in the regular season matchup and in this one they had a much more difficult time getting to the hoop.

i don't think they have enough juice to take down iowa, but it's wild to lock up a tourney berth in a rebuilding season for illinois women's basketball. the perspective on that is really mind-boggling when you look at the 15 years preceding coach green's arrival

Man, from 15th to 9th. They definitely didn't get an easy path in this tournament.

I'm worried about today only because Illinois had to go absolutely nuts from 3 to have a shot and still lost. They need to slow Iowa's offense and try not to get into a shootout with them.

Keep winning and the Bracketology takes care of itself. Three games we were favored that we let slip away

@Oregon State 59-64
@Oregon 73-76
USC 62-70

11-7 6th in B10 would be much stronger than 9-9. Overall would be 24-7

Shauna has them fighting hard. Iowa is beatable on neutral court. We only lost by 4 at Iowa City.

Guessing we might rotate with shorter stints? Maybe give Naomi some tick? Did anyone notice that CeCe stayed on her feet most of the game. Tried taking some charges but upright for the most part. 🤗

The team just needs some smarts and muscle in the paint this time and maybe have the guards dog I. On heiden because she goes up quickly

Not so for Berry though. Seemed like she was down more than ever which is alot! They both really need to stay on their feet. You cant do anything when you're on the ground and they're more likely to get hurt going down all the time.

Call me a dirty old man, but in addition to be a very good coach, I think she is a very good looking lady. Pruman?

It's likely that Iowa will be without Hannah Stuelke who played a major role in that last game (18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists).

Yes I did notice Cearah was not on the ground as much. I believe that this will be a big difference with her as a Sophomore after weight & strength training this Spring & Summer.

Don’t see an availability report for the game, which is supposed to be posted 3 hours before the game. Stuelke was out for the 3/1/26 game at Wisconsin. If she does play, I'll be watching how ILL plays D on her on Heiden, last time combined for 46 points.

2 early fouls on Parchment is no bueno. Second one should have been a charge on Iowa. Slow start again down 21-11 after one
