I know this will sound a bit of an “in hindsight” post, but I have been meaning to mention this for some time now. I guess I was afraid of being laughed off the page, and maybe I still will be. In some previous posts in other threads (probably the "Illini Basketball 2024-2025” thread”), many have said that when Big Ten conference play starts, the Illini will revert to a seven-man rotation (maybe 8). And that is not an unreasonable assumption as that has been the history. But I think this year BU will keep this nine-man rotation going for the rest of the season. I mean, it won’t be nine every game, but most games. I have been watching Jake Davis the last few games, and while he is not a starter, he seemed to take care of business while out there. Solid play, usually good fundamental skills, etc., and a three-point threat. I think BU sees that in practice and has tried to get him in the games. Plus, BU has been putting JD in games early (first half), not the usual end-of-the-game garbage time. I also think that BU will still try to get Booth in there early in the games, too, again, not at the end of game garbage times. It might actually be a 10 man rotation, albeit Booth won’t be getting many minutes until or if this experiment pans out and he is successful to some extent, but I wouldn’t be surprised if getting him the game when it matters is a minor confidence booster for Booth (if it works) and maybe he can get some quality minutes and be a more productive player. I'm not saying it will definitely happen, but it might.

I had this ready to post, but I had to catch up first.

I understand why some people prefer Illini Inquirer, but I don't. These 2 have more charisma than the rest of the college basketball podcast world combined.

Maybe we should just have a thumbs down/disagree button so people don't feel the need to be nasty with responses. That's why I sometimes add JMHO or IMHO, so I don't have to duck. Hey, that wasn't a bad pun today.
So Bbuck holds no truck with those who suck and muck about on his posts, causing him to duck?

I agree, responders like that are yuck, bad luck, and should be told to f...never mind, I shouldn't start a ruckus.

To be fair, in two previous BIG games it has been essentially an 8-man rotation with Davis getting only 7 minutes in total. He also saw only 3 minutes in second half last night. I loved seeing how well he did, and if nothing else he showed he can give us a spark and some good minutes when needed. But I don’t expect him to see a huge increase in minutes. Probably won’t be a popular opinion, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we just saw the most minutes and points Jake will have in a game this season. Still, good to know he can give us valuable minutes when called upon.

I actually agree about shooters needing to shoot.but any coach worth his wait in salt knows if said shooter can hit the broad side of a barn and plays the worst defense in illini uniform for years maybe other then the groce era.look man I understand he had a decent night no denying that and I'm not rooting against him but any coach will play the play the player that's going to win him the game and until tonight that hasn't been ben.im not saying not to give a shooter a chance to shoot but by your standing if we played Ben over morez in bragging rights that would have been a loss.ben brought nothing to that game other then points for mizzou it goes both ways.so youd give up morez development over 3 decent games by Ben and horrible defensive play?I'm not trying to argue if that is the case then I'd have to call you the amateur
Is this some kind of "new age" punctuation; i.e., there is none?

Kind of like how Podz had a flurry to help win at Northwestern, then didn't play much again? (Per my memory)

Yeah, but some posters as just so . . . Ignorant? We shouldn't have to read their words.

True, but I don't think anyone makes as much of a production out of putting someone on ignore as you do, either.
I might be mistaken, but I feel like I've seen you post that same gif at least a half dozen different times.

I don’t know why people are surprised this team is starting to play well after the 1st of the year. It’s an entirely new team except for 1 person. That alone it would make sense it would take a 1/3 of the season to jell and players feeling out their rolls. Add some of our key players are playing college ball for the 1st time! I expect players and team chemistry to continue to improve. I don’t even think our peak is last night though it’s probably pretty close. Brad has put together an extremely talented/great shooting and good team 1st players roster.

I think my favorite play of the game was when Tre gathered up that longish rebound and shoveled it off to Boswell near the 3pt line who just bounced it right back to Tre near the baseline who took one dribble and dunked. Great pass.
