Good morning all.................hope today finds you in a positive frame of mind as much as I am in over the last 3 days of glorious wins in Illini FB and last night roasting of the # 9 Ducks.......it , without a doubt , has been the best medicine that good ole pru could ever have had.........

Talk about a true TEAM effort on a late night for all of us Central time zoner's to enjoy and savor.........the lads unleashed a barrage of athleticism and skill upon the ducks and they withered like a fart in a whirlwind............total arse kickin and taking names , as we used to say in the Cro-Magnum past era of my life...........Release the hounds and watch them hunt , and hunt they did.....

They really really really did...........

To all my Illini brothers and sisters here who have shown love and support in my 3 + weeks absence from the board I say thank you from the bottom of my O & B heart............To those of you who have posted about your trials and tribulations regarding health problems , I offer you the same support level as I have received........it means a lot to me to have that support so I want to share that support with you too.........

Thank you Jake & DGL for keeping us in the game in the 1st half........As BU stated so too the point last night , you 2 Illini won the game for us , so the rest of the Illini could come out and lay the wood to the yellow and green horde in the second half ......

The second half performance by the beloved was a masterpiece in how to break down an opponent's will to compete.......Last night's game will be remembered by ole pru as poetry in motion with so many highlight plays to witness.........

I don't know why people keep labeling Ben as a terrible defender. Have you actually focused on him while ignoring the ball for extended time? Personally, I don't see it, partly because his b-ball IQ is so high.
From the box score:
1. Morez two of two at the line. Looks like he's been working hard on that aspect of the game.
2. I expected this from Tre from the time I first watched his film. Don't expect him to drop 20 every game, but he's coming on stronger and stronger.
3. six assists and only two turnovers for KJ. I think we'd take that every time and so would he.
4. 64 points in one half? Are you kidding me?
5. Can't expect 55% from deep every night out, but regularly in the 40s wouldn't surprise me.
6. We have a lethal collection of big guards that's problematic for opponents. KJ, Riley, Tre and Davis are all 6-6 or taller. For that matter, Ben, at 6-9 might be called a guard.
7. Boswell keeps coming on stronger with each game.

Offense players can take a shot on Ben with no need to adjust or hurry. Players he guards have a extremely high shooting percentage. Missouri and NU offense was predicated on isolating Ben

Happy overall of course but especially happy for Ben! Great to see him getting some love from Coach Underwood.
Love seeing BU interact in a very positive way with the lads..........sure beats the vein popping screaming days of the past........

it really really does...................

I'm also so glad we took dj bald head ref out of the equation early in the second half.......... I really really am..................

Combining the two sports, it’s hard to compare. I can’t recall such a feel good football win followed shortly by an incredible beatdown in basketball — let alone on the road.

Three individual basketball games come to mind where such a beatdown was unexpected.

2021 @ Michigan
2004 Wake Forest
1988 @ LSU

We’ve had our share of memorable blowouts, but those three and tonight’s win at Oregon stand out among the rest.

Fair, but if we're gonna criticize the dude when he's playing terribly ( I know I was!) , gotta give him the props he's earned when he plays well. Loved his overall effort and aggressiveness too.

Said after the Bama game this was the first "soft" BU team I had seen and hoped they could respond. Even without the shooting clinic, we played TOUGH on the road last night. Credit to all our guys....let's keep it up and win another B1G title.

Gotta give BU/staff some credit for an adjustment to get Ben going. I told someone the other day that Ben doesn't look super confident shooting corner 3s. Some guys just don't like that look at the basket. Last night they ran a lot of the pick n pop at the key to get him looks either straight on or from the wing where he's clearly way more comfortable. Very subtle change, but good coaching to put Ben in a position to succeed.

This is why some on this board will never and should never coach. Prior to tonight, this group had only played 12 games together, yet you have people making hard line stances like....the "donors" being upset.

Happy for the kid and happy we have the coach we do. We're extremely fortunate and probably shouldn't take it for granted.
And people were calling for Tre White to be benched after a few games and Riley to start. Heck, people were questioning even signing him based on just his Louisville season.

Most fans are too impatient and look at sports now as if everything is a fantasy team — stats are all that matter and rarely matters who they’re against. More to building a team. And these coaches have a plan and get to see how it and players are progressing more than 40 minutes every 4 or 5 days.

Then there is the flip side as fans go from 0 to 60 when something good happens. Lot of people already penciling Illini in F4 and national champs. Certainly have the potential based off of that game, but seeing it more than once might be something worth waiting for. But that’s what we do as fans — and some much more than others.

Very excited about win, but I’ll just enjoy the ride for awhile before proclaiming that destination has been reached.

That’s the perception that Oregon players had last night. If you watch tape, you’d see that Ben has has the potential to be way better defensively than he showed earlier in the season. Brief highlights with players scoring on him don’t paint the full picture. I supported him earlier in the season and will continue to support him now. He’s a good player on a loaded team and plays a key role as a help defender that can stretch the floor. Our ceiling is higher with even a decent version of himself.
