I agree in part, the suck i saw from KB was two turnovers in a row when KJ was on the bench. Otherwise I think he was solid, he had bad luck of being on the floor for some shaky Riley first half minutes and for Jake Davis being unable to finish after two great passes, but KB made plenty of plays.

He has a great pull mid range shot. If he can consistently hit that shot and then look for either a cutter or corner shooter off of it would make him that much better of an offensive player.

Excited to see how he looks throughout the non conference against all different levels of competition and if he can even just shoot 50% from 3 this team will be very hard to stop

I am not sure anybody has the 'downhill burst' like TSJ.

I tuned in 3 game minutes late and kept wondering who Genesis was. Eventually I figured she was an Illini WBB player. She did a god job, especially compared to the yahoo from a few years ago who yelled something memorable bug irritating (Schmack) every time we hit a three.

It was a great idea to bring in a member of our WBB team to do color, but I wish that every time they showed the two on screen, they would have a caption with their names also onscreen.

Now do the same for a WBB game with a MBB doing colors.

Riley may not have the downhill burst of TSJ but who does. He is taller, smoother and can stop and pull up for a jumper about anywhere. TSJ did not have that in his arsenal or he just didn't think to do it very often. Probably because he could blow by 90% of the defenders at will and score or get to the foul line. As a lot of people say on here, Riley is a bucket.

KJ’s defense seemed reasonable to me but I hate to see any point guard out front dribbling the ball for any time. Wasn’t as bad as last game but don’t know if it is result of teammates not in position or him trying to break down his own man. It will result in turnovers against strong defenses. There was some impressive passing in the game but some cross court will not work against faster, longer defenses.

You are comparing 6' 8" or 6' 9" 18 yo to an all American 5 year senior. Majority of guys trying to guard Riley will be more physically like Luka than built like Shannon.

Wait you want or have an expectation that he could shoot 50% from 3? Or did you mean 50% from the field overall? I’ll let you clarify before I comment.

Keep punning like that and there may an Exodus of posters here, you may hear their Lamentations, as they want a site purely based on the game, with no Acts of humor. I would think this would be chapter and verse to you and not a Revelation.

Now the original poster Judges Genesis well; she did a good Job with the Numbers and overall showed a gentle Wisdom.

I was meaning from the field , and by no means expectation. But if he gets to his spots and keeps showing the confidence he had in his jumper he could be 50%+ from the field with how smooth his jumper and offense looked

BUT in a perfect world shooting over 50% from 3 would be better lol

easy to be confident when the guy guarding you is 6 inches shorter

Watched the whole game this afternoon. Boy, are we WEAK on defense! That high ball screen ate our lunch.... and we struggled to stop the dribble drive.

That was against a weak mid-major. We're going to struggle against major competition. Hope we see some improvement on Friday. Johnson was fairly effective, but he's only a freshman. Love his nose for the rebound. Needs to become a wall on defense. Ivicic is NOT.
