Just a couple of comments from watching game
Domask reminds me a little of Illinois transfer player (Bradley) Eddy(?) from abourt 8 years ago. He is the glue player we need, can do more but will make sure the team function well first. Passed up shots for other players and is a ball magnet (rebounds, loose balls).
Harris will play this year, his defense is needed for elite teams and players. Remember how big he was against UCLA and Texas. But his overall skillset isn't as refined as Langhorn. Harris has elite speed and other intagibles, needs to become better shooter and improve skillset. Think he is one year away from being more of a contributor.
Goode's shot selection was less than desired in second half. Shot a fade away three and other well defended 3's in additon to missing some open 3s. Not worried, he is our best shooter.
Having Guerrier and Harmon will help us against teams that we lost in the past in the NCAAs like Arkansas and Houston. We just didn't have the veteran tough players to match the depth of these teams. Both played well yesterday but we will really need them when teams get tougher and deeper. They are not one trick ponies, they will do all that his asked and play hard. Going to add Harris here again, as games get harder this is where you appreciate Harris' defense more.
Ty did fine but my concern is his lack of 3 point and free throw shooting. He can drive so teams can't back off him as much, but this is a concern for games that are close late in the second half. We can surround him with enough 3 point shooters (Coleman, TSJ, Goode, Domask) but what about getting fouled. It is nice having a 6-6 PG, especially against those teams that bullied our smaller guards last year. I can't recall a PG we had that can do a one step dunk like he did yesterday and rebound like him.
