Oh no, you've been critically inconvenienced. The simplest actions of acknowledging a true, and fairly glaring aspect of the circumstances. The internet, for as much grief it is, doesn't exactly revolve around your delicate sensibilities. My condolences.
LOL OK then

I get that Brad is really trying to save any shred of confidence that Humrichous might have left, but he's nearly unplayable at this point. At most, he should be getting spot minutes off the bench to get other guys rest. Similar to what we are seeing from Jake Davis.

Brad is telling the media things that show faith in Ben, but they ring hollow. On offense, all he really does is stand in the corner. Occasionally he will run from corner to corner on the baseline. On defense, he's just...not good. He gets pushed around and discarded leading to easy buckets for the other team. And we all know about the rebounding.

He still needs to play, and he has a role, but it needs to be much more limited than what has been, especially in league play. It seems to be trending correctly, hopefully the minutes distribution for Morez and Riley continues to grow.
Even in this non-competitive game was that there is a group of players that are high level competitors (KJ, Kylan, Morez, Tomi, Tre, Dre,Will) and then there are guys that can be spot minute Ben and Davis. Booth I have to admit has not gotten better and looks like he would benefit from a redshirt year to get stronger.

Yankee Stadium: The House that Aaron Judge built.

Yeppp Illinois basketball and the Yankees basically interchangeable. If the Yankees were a dumpster fire for a decade and Scott Boras and all the other agents were telling their clients to avoid going there like it was the plague, but Aaron Judge was a New York kid who wanted to bring them back and then did it. He didnt build it but he def built it back.

My original post was feeling fulfilled about people in Ayo jerseys celebrating Kylans triple double seeing what Ayo did come full circle. You people who took that as me disregarding anything else in the programs history god bless ya that has to be an exhausting way to live.

still wanna talk about the most negative part of the game, interesting
There is a reason the posts after a loss are pages and pages and pages longer than those after a win. It's because we are all sofa coaches who have ideas on how to fix problems. After a win, sofa coaches do not have much to change and make better.

Not sure people are clamoring for Booth. But with Booth being another option at PF or even C, it would be nice to give him some game time to build confidence. Booth being serviceable may make Brad more comfortable with playing Morez more minutes (and risking foul trouble).
Totally agree. For clarity, the passion some have for getting more minutes for Booth is just as much (if not more) about getting more minutes for Morez.

Perhaps that might be believable…. IF you didn’t get so defensive about the reaction, followed predictably by the ol “it was just tongue in cheek” chestnut.

Bottom line, you said something absurd, multiple people corrected you, and (hopefully) you’ll learn from this. At the end of the day, it’s not a big deal, but recency bias is a thing.

Oh, and one more note: The Yankees WERE a dumpster fire for a decade — from the mid-80s to mid 90s. Derek Jeter would be the Ayo in this comparison, and while he certainly revived the Yankees, he did not build Ruth’s house.

You're all wrong. I fixed it all. Yankees too. But I do it on the down low, so I'd rather not talk about it. ;)

Talking about Ben being a starter in BIG play... thanks for your comment though
So do you like many think Brad Underwood is wrong so far for starting Ben? I feel Riley may take that role eventually if BU makes a change. However, Will Riley is really the only likely option to be a starter at the 4 because we need Morez to play nearly all the minutes at the 5 when Big T sits. It still seems a bit early to give up on Ben with Riley still also struggling. BU knows our players strengths, sees them battle in practice each day, what players abilities to fill roles are. Morez may be a starting option if Dain had stayed or someone else was on our roster. Imo the need for Morez to stay out of foul trouble and back up the 5 with really no other depth at the 5 is why BU will continue to choose Ben to start unless Riley steps up, gains confidence. And gets more experience which could wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened over the next few weeks.

Not much to take from this game other than Ben is really not looking like a Big 10 player. Also did Boswell play 31 minutes just so he could get a triple double? Would have been nice to get Booth some more action too even though he didn’t so much in the minutes he did get. We already know what most of the guys can do

Games like this make me think if DGL went down a level to like the Horizon League he’d be averaging 22+ a game and be looked at as a high impact portal transfer. But coming off the bench at Illinois other teams probably don’t see him that way
DGL is only in his Sophomore season, extremely athletic, skilled and good enough to start on most B10 teams. He is just behind KJ and Boswell who both may end up All B10 as they get better playing together.

He deserves the chance to perform against top tier talent. I'd like to see 20ish minutes a game for DGL from here on out. And I hope our coaching staff agrees.
Did you not read the post? Love DGL, but at this point, he is great against lesser condition and struggles with better teams with more size. I have high hopes that will change as he matures.

I am ok with a game like this with an inferior opponent once in a while. Most of our rotational players looked solid and a couple who were struggling recently appeared to come around. Good for everyone's confidence. Ben's shot still hasn't settled back in for him but I appreciate the effort he was putting in at the other parts of his game. Everyone wants to see him rebound more, which he did today but let's not forget about who his teammates are. Tomi and Morez are two of the top post rebounders in the Big. Likewise at the gaurd positions for KJ and Boswell with Tre being solid from the wing. For Ben's rebounding numbers to go up it would likely mean someone else's would go down. We are one of the top rebounding teams in the country the way it is. Like others have said it's not as much about his rebounding as it is him blocking out and keeping his man off the glass. According to Brad he has been doing a good job of that. The only real disappointment for me is that Booth hasn't progressed at all since the beginning of the season. With his athletic ability he should definitely be contributing more than he has.

So did our Kenpom score move after this game? Sitting at 19 now, but don’t know what it was before the game.
