Where are we seeing this? The AP usually drops at noon CT

It's not out yet, but only UConn in front of us lost a game (to #4 Arizona) and a few behind us will leapfrog... Alabama, BYU, Florida, maybe even Gonzaga... MSU beat Kentucky but idk if they'll jump that high to move in front of us

Guessing 12 as well. Close game like that to a likely high seed shouldn't hurt us much.

FWIW, I would consider 8 to 12 a decent drop ... but not unexpected, given few teams lost. Anything lower than #12 would be too harsh, IMO, and it's reasonable to expect to drop out of the top 10 ... so I think 11-12 is a very good guess.

A lot of great top 25 action this week, and it is safe to say next week's rankings could look a lot different!!

Today / Tonight
#14 St. John's (NY) vs. #15 Iowa State (Las Vegas, NV)
#12 Gonzaga vs. #8 Alabama (Las Vegas, NV)

Tuesday
#17 Tennessee vs. #3 Houston (Las Vegas, NV)
#21 Auburn vs. #7 Michigan (Las Vegas, NV)

Thursday
#16 North Carolina vs. #11 Michigan State (Fort Myers, FL)
#22 Arkansas vs. #4 Duke (Chicago, IL)

Friday
#13 Illinois vs. #5 UConn (New York, NY)

Could possibly get a few more from this Players Era Festival in Vegas, but I certainly don't understand how that bracket works. :ROFLMAO: I usually post some "games to watch" for teams ranked just above us to try to gauge how far up the rankings we could jump. However, this week is pretty simple. Go 1-1, and we will drop (with the number of spots depending on how badly we would lose to presumably UConn). Go 2-0, and we will sky rocket up the polls.

ESPN has never liked Illinois, but I was just on their app and in their article about the new top 25, literally every team BUT Illinois has something good said about them(except Texas Tech, who lost by 30+ to Purdue, while we only lost by 4 to 'Bama) in the "Stat to Know" section below every team. I'm not kidding. Go look for yourself if you want.

Does it make sense that UCONN lost at HOME to Arizona and only fell two spots? Maybe it does I’m just asking.

I think we were also hurt by Texas Tech laying such an egg vs. Purdue. If the pollsters think TTU is #20, our win vs. them is our claim to fame and we lost to #8 Alabama in a quasi-home game ... #13 is the sort of "split-the-difference" spot. Also, here is an updated list of the top 25 by conference.

Big Ten
SEC
Big XII
ACC
Big East
Other Conferences

1. Purdue
2. Arizona
3. Houston

4. Duke
5. UConn
6. Louisville
7. Michigan
8. Alabama
9. BYU
10. Florida
11. Michigan State
12. Gonzaga
13. Illinois
14. St. John's (NY)
15. Iowa State
16. North Carolina
17. Tennessee
18. UCLA
19. Kentucky
20. Texas Tech
21. Auburn
22. Arkansas

23. NC State
24. Vanderbilt
25. Indiana

At Least 25 Votes in RV - Wisconsin, Kansas, Oregon, Georgetown, Saint Mary's, Nebraska, Ohio State

I've said this before, but I really feel like there is more equality of the conferences than there has been in several years, and anyone trying to proclaim one league as clearly the best (at least as of now) is probably just pushing an agenda.

Conference play will separate contenders from pretenders.

We are 1-1 against top 25 teams

UConn, TN, Mizzou will be good test

2 home/Chicago
2 Road/MSG/Nashville
1 neutral - StLouis

A top 10 team would go 5-0 or 4-1
2-0 home
1-0 neutral
1-1 road

A top 25 team should go 3-2
1-1 home
1-0 neutral
1-1 road

I say beat Missouri and TN to go 3-2. Easier route was beat TT, Bama, Missouri

I think that's a little stringent... we could go 3-2 and end up as the #1 overall team... the schedule and results are judged in entirety, not just a 5 game bubble

I mean the 20-21 team started out the season with 5 losses in their first 14 games (losses to unranked, unranked, #19, unranked, #21) and ended up ranked #2 overall to end the year
