Illinois #19 in AP Poll

Don't have any majors issues with this except for probably Houston being above us - 3 losses and no quality wins and two losses in the past week.

Like, why is UConn ranked? Like, how???
As others have mentioned, the AP Poll is a fascinatingly weird animal, lol. For starters, it is obviously just a mathematical tally of a bunch of relatively random people ranking the teams. While this tends to mold into an odd "consensus" of sorts, it will include some bizarre outliers. Also, since to my knowledge there are not clear instructions, every voter is going to rank differently. You can OBVIOUSLY make a coherent argument that UConn is indeed one of the best 25 teams in the nation and simply had a crap week ... but that will conflict with the way so many other voters treat the AP Poll - as a sort of reward/punishment ladder where you bump teams up for winning and down for losing, regardless of how good you actually think they are.

Media members who are clueless that have a vote. There’s a lot of them. A drop of 23 though has to be one of the biggest drops ever in one week.
In a way, I like it. If they had been dropped out of the rankings, it would have given them an opportunity to gather themselves and fly under the radar while they licked their wounds. Instead, by being ranked, their fall from grace stays more top of mind for national, casual audiences. Rather than "Out of sight, out of mind.", it's "Wow, UConn is last in the rankings.. they really fell off."

That home Wisconsin game is brewing into a legit game. Although, I tend to think this is an over-correction as to how good Wisconsin actually is. I think by the end of the season they are more than likely a fringe top 25 team. Regardless, let's beat the Kitty Kats and then protect home court and beat Wisconsin as well.
