I like the ability to go look at individual voters on the AP website. Really goes to show some "interesting" decisions by people that have somehow been given a vote. Just a couple interesting ones(there are plenty to pick from)...

Adam Lichtenstein - (Arkansas #15, Illinois #24)
Brenna Greene - (UConn #17, Indiana #21, Arkansas #23, Illinois...unranked)

Not sure how reporters get the ability to be included in this vote, but I have to question whatever process there is.

Guessing that Adam and Brenna didn't have CBS on at 3PM on Thanksgiving because they both made the same error in not moving Ark out and Ill up. It's fine if they missed the outcome because of the holiday, but they probably shouldn't have a vote if they weren't going to put the effort in.

I'll stand.
I'll raise both you and Doogie94. How could you leave off the most consistently successful ILLINI sports team of the last decade: The Fighting Illini Men's golf program which has won 20 Big Ten championships, including the last eight consecutively, and in 2013 finished as national runner-up and reached the Final Four in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Fighting Illini have won 14 of the last 16 Big Ten Golf Championships. Coach Mike Small is an ILLINI legend and he has them in the thick of it again in 2024/2025:

Typical hypocrisy for the AP. They continue to base their rankings on past years. Houston 3 losses, UConn 3 losses, No. Carolina 3 losses all still ranked. Bull shirt!

Absolutely wild consistency for a northerly school where you can't even play the sport four months out of the year.

Media members who are clueless that have a vote. There’s a lot of them. A drop of 23 though has to be one of the biggest drops ever in one week.
If they lose another in the next week or 2, every voter will catch on.

So, will anything come of this? Will Tom Fornelli do anything, like contact those voters or whoever is in charge of the AP voters, if anyone? Seems like last year there was one person (or maybe a couple) who consistently ranked Illinois low or not at all. But I believe that one (or two) have been removed. So maybe Lichtenstein and Greene and the six in Fornelli’s post will be removed as well.
