Illinois 23, Rutgers 20 Postgame

Let's take a deep breath and relax. Rutgers is bad . There play calling and coaching kept the ILLINI in the game and gave them a chance to win. With that being said, you will not be successful with a running QB unless they are 6'2 and bigger. They take to much punishment. This week against an athletic Nebraska team should tell you a lot.
Absolutely correct. Not sure why some are looking to have a strong narrative after a very average game on Saturday. Some may argue below average game.

Illini 5 I agree that a smaller qb especially a running qb is going to take a lot of hits and some will be close to being a penalty. What will help with IW is to hit some passes by rolling out. When we were stopped at the goal line my thought and this play always works. You fake the handoff to Epstein and let the TE flare out with the qb following and that pass is open probably 95 percent of the time. You very rarely see that pass not work. We have three TE that are good players. Rod Smith should have seen the plays were not working. Hope we win in Nb. We have played them close over the last couple of years. It is not on IW this game, or Peters, but on the defense for Saturday. I hope we don't sit back the db's 10 to 12 yds off the line and just let the qb throw at will. That is exactly what MN did to us. Then you see what IA did to their off. Go Illini.
