When was the last time Illinois won on a walkoff FG or TD in regulation?
I’m sure there are more recent examples but tOSU in 1985 and over MSU in..1990.

Man the goal posts were sure a lot wider back then.
Chris White was Mike White’s son and you’ll notice coach White was in on the pile!
I miss Keith Jackson, but I loved how the BTN announcer said he would let the crowd let you know who won and remained silent as pandemonium ensued.

Those were my college years. Thought it would always be that way@1:22
So that's what a full stadium looks like?
I was at that one...air went out of stadium.Chris White was Mike White’s son and you’ll notice coach White was in on the pile!
unfortunately later that year Chris White’s potential walk off against Michigan was tipped at the line ending the game at 3-3 On a very cold November day at Memorial.
Yes they were maybe Cody Parkey could have made his kickMan the goal posts were sure a lot wider back then.
If I recall correctly, Chris White's potential walk off in that game hit the cross bar and bounced back out. Either way, I do remember it being very cold and the 3 - 3 tie satisfied nobody.Chris White was Mike White’s son and you’ll notice coach White was in on the pile!

Man you're not kidding. I started going to games in the early 80s and it's sad that it's such a shocking difference and such a very very distant memory.@1:22

Correct, and it was Halloween weekend. If I recall correctly, Chris White's potential walk off in that game hit the cross bar and bounced back out. Either way, I do remember it being very cold and the 3 - 3 tie satisfied nobody.
If you listen to Lovie in the locker room right after the game and his press conference yesterday, they have moved on. Whether they get the players to focus is another question
How did it happen? I am going to say the most likely answer that no one wants to admit, it was more of Wisconsin looking past Illinois than Illinois all of a sudden becoming a great team.
The Purdue outcome will tell us all we need to know. Lose, it was a trap game for Wisconsin. Win, Illinois have certainly turned a corner
Sorry Dude, that INT b Adams and run by Dre Brown at the end, plus the FG by McCourt, were Illini players making plays, not Wisky letting down. Same with the block by Corbin and pass by Peters to BeBe with a DB all over him for the TD that made it 23-21.
Don't misread my post. I answered a question of "How did that happen". An upset does not happen without the underdog making great plays. However, odds that Wisconsin looked past us are a lot better than the odds we just morphed into a decent team. Because we looked like ISH vs Minnesota. I think we can all agree on those comments.Sorry Dude, that INT b Adams and run by Dre Brown at the end, plus the FG by McCourt, were Illini players making plays, not Wisky letting down. I agree they will get beat down vs OSU but that is because I believe OSU is that much better than everyone else in the B1G. I am not going to say a team that beat Mich St. 38-0 and Mich 35-14 was exposed. They are a good team.Agreed. I just don't buy this whole "they looked ahead" argument. Does that mean they didn't scheme to defeat Illinois on both sides? Does that mean they didn't have some motivation to stay undefeated? I could maybe see it if they hadn't been 31 point favorites, but I am just not buying it. I think Wisconsin was exposed, and they are going to get a Nebraska-style massacre at the hands of OSU.
Just because Illinois won obviously didn't mean they are a better team than Wisconsin, but it also doesn't mean the game was a fluke. I think they flat out played better than Wisconsin and don't buy the looking ahead to OSU narrative.Don't misread my post. I answered a question of "How did that happen". And regardless of my opinion, we are going to get our answer vs a 2 win Purdue team. That is all I am saying
I'm such a proponent of the transitive property that I'd say we are better than Michigan. So, if Wisky beats tOSU does that make us better than Ohio State?
Correct, and it was Halloween weekend.
100%The bottom line in my book - and any record book - Wisconsin got outplayed by one point.
But now for the asterisk for the record book: it's how Illini won. They took the game away from the Badgers: interception, Brown run, field goal. I will always remember those plays for as long as I live - if I live that long .
