We now have appeared in the AP Poll at least once in the past six seasons ... just one shy of the stretch of seven seasons from 2000 to 2006!
Look who snuck in!
The 2022 was the last season in which all 3 were ranked but they actually were never ranked in the AP poll during the same week that year.
The time both hoops teams were ranked at the same time was all the way back in November of 2001. We'd have to move back to January 2000 to find a date when both hoops teams and football were ranked too. (That was the final AP poll of the 1999 football season).
Being ranked is cool but don’t feel like we’ve earned it yet. Let’s beat Bama.

You could say that about most of the teams in the first 4-5 weeks in any given year. We've earned the respect as a program so might as well enjoy it.
Few teams really “earn it” this early in non conference play.
Fewer teams have to replace 99% of their productivity over prior to show that we can be at that level after a total overhaul. That ranking is a pure reflection on our head coach and belief in him.
