Yep, that second part is the key one! And yeah, these are the only ranked teams that have defeated another team in this week's top 25 so far, for reference (also using current rankings, not the rankings at the time).
#1 Kansas beat #10 North Carolina at home
#3 Gonzaga beat #13 Baylor at home
#4 Auburn beat #7 Houston pretty much on the road (neutral site in Houston)
#6 Purdue beat #8 Alabama at home
#9 Kentucky beat #12 Duke at a neutral site
#13 Baylor beat #20 Arkansas at a neutral site
#19 Wisconsin beat #17 Arizona at home
Only two of those teams are not (deservedly) rockin' top 10 rankings because they are the ONLY teams that have actually "proved themselves" so far. And of those two, Baylor is still knocking on the door, and Wisconsin zoomed all the way up from not being ranked at all to #19 (while Arizona fell 8 spots for that loss).
With a respectable loss to Alabama, we likely drop out but remain very high in the RV category, and we MIGHT even remain ranked if we just take care of business vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday. Conversely, if we beat Alabama ... well, we will zoom right on up those rankings!

When we're looking at simulated brackets based on 3 game samples including about 90% buy games, and the simulations include a conference game in the first round, maybe pump the brakes a little.
I am not sure it means much, but it is refreshing to now have this respect in the college bball world.
Does it have us playing Maryland in the first round? Does it still think they are in the ACC ? lol
