Tennessee went from Rocky Top to Swampy Bottom. Luke just surgically removed their heart. Man will he be missed. So glad he turned down a huge NIL payout from this same opponent, and then chose to play today with an all out effort instead of not risking an injury before the NFL draft. Greatest hero in modern Illini football history.

2-0 vs Tennessee in December and back-to-back bowl wins/9 win seasons! Hopefully this team will have a small number in front of their name in the final polls -- I believe they earned it.

Very strange season of ups and downs, but a good way to finish the season, especially for Altmyer.

The Illini have done their part to keep an unbeaten B1G bowl season -- which makes it likely that Iowa could be the first loss.

When Tennessee scored on the botched kickoff near the end, I believe I posted in the game thread, "I hate everything." I was demoralized, probably because a lifetime of Illini fandom has conditioned me to expect when crazy things like that happen for the other team, we don't back bounce from it. What a difference a few minutes makes. This team is just built differently. I love everything!!!

While it is not necessarily the best strategy to let the other team score on a kickoff return, at least the Illini did it with about 5 minutes left in regulation to allow their offense to effectively end the game with a walkoff score. Didn't we all kinda feel that Tennessee might have scored to take the lead with under a minute left had they started from their own 25?
Enjoy the NFL, Luke. You are an alltime Illini great!!!
