I know the game plan was to control the clock, which Illinois did extremely well. But I thought the defense with few exceptions played well and did not give up any huge plays.
The gameplan worked. Tennessee was going to score points. We forced them to run it, which they were successful at, but is not their preferred way of playing and didn't allow them to get comfortable. The one 3rd and 15 in the 4th quarter was horrific, but on the whole the defense did their job today.

The defense has been rightfully criticized much of the year, but huge props to the effort and execution today. Unless I am mistaken, this was the first time Aguilar was held under 200 yards in the air his entire FBS career -- that was not on my Bingo card going into the game. It is amazing what sustained dline pressure will do (and of course the offense controlling t.o.p.).

I actually love Jelly Roll as a person, but holy crap did he get on my last nerve on commentary in the Illini vs Tennessee basketball game earlier this month! Lol.
