Illinois 34, Wisconsin 10 Postgame

#151
As long time Illini football fans we may have forgotten what competent coaching looks like.
It looks like this.

All phases seem coordinated, no problems getting on and off the field, no play call confusion, no dumb penalties, no clock issues etc.
I am not missing the searching, befuddled looks Lovey gave us too often.
I lost it when we used our timeouts strategically to leave Wisconsin with as little time as possible.

Strategic timeout use.... oh lordy.

I am watching the game now and the analyst from Iowa sounds like a Wisky homer. Every penalty against Wisky is questionable. Plus listening to Boyington is grating.

To Anthony Herron's credit, he's really good about not letting his Iowa homerism come out during his game analysis.

He's really good to listen to for his Bears analysis on the Score, both during week as well as when he does pregame and postgame analysis.

These guys gave Illinois zero credit. Illinois D was solid and they wont admit it. Its funny to listen to these guys though.
They don't want to admit we could have done anything right. I think we're going to run into a lot of that with how long we were the B1G doormats. We need a few good, consistent years until folks will give us credit

Boy, you look at the games left on the schedule, and how can you not get excited. The road game at Michigan seems like the only one out of our reach.
I hate Michigan football with every fiber of my being. And they for sure will be heavily favored. But if there's one thing I've learned in almost 40years of hating those whores from Ann Arbor, it's that the way to shut them up is to hit them in the effing face play after play after play and they self-destruct. Iowa has great defense, but nobody in the B10 hits harder than us. If we can get to their QB, I think this team will give themselves a shot. I don't care how many stars are next to your name, you don't want to get smoked by Sydney Brown or trucked by Chase Brown
