Can't discount that tackle at the end. Thought it was going to be DPI. You're sitting on that and know you have the guy dead to rights after the catch, but need all the discipline and skill to hold up until the ball basically hits the receiver.

Hahahaha incredible just incredible. Why you’d go for 2 there when the opposing team has a freshman QB in his first game I’ll never know. Nor will I know why you’d go for a trick play there, but credit to X for staying composed, having the awareness to know what was going on and make the play. I said if we won by 1pt I’d be happy and I guess I need to do that. Good win on the road. Now let’s get healthy

Why do coaches always seem to try to get too fancy on these 2 pt plays? At least the defense was prepared for a gimmick play.

Not a sexy win at all, but a win is a win. Hard to see where the Illini have 3 more wins with the remaining schedule to get to bowl eligibilty, but at least they avoided the catastrophic 3 week stretch of losses.

This looks like a 4 to 5 win team at this point, but crazier things have happened. A very important bye week approaches. Let's pack Memorial Stadium in two weeks for the Ducks!

thrilling game and a win by the Illini...................38-37 victory with a big defensive stand on a dumb trick play on the 2 point try to lose the game.........Clayton came through facing the adversity of Houser's injury and had 2 TD passes for the win ..........

I'm worn out from this game and gonna sit back and smile over this sweet win.......................

It’s a Big Ten road win. Accept it and let’s get to next week.

Nah cmon. This defense just allowed 31 regular time (with an easy touchdown in OT to add) against the worst offense in the big ten.

It’ll go as a W but you gotta be kidding me if you take away anything positive about this team overall from the game.

That being said massive massive massive props to Clayton. One of the more incredible true freshmen performances I’ve seen from a guy coming cold off the bench with zero pass attempts. He looked real sharp minus the misfire to Trimble. Incredibly happy for him that’s a lifetime memory made.
