At the end it was 10. First half 8, second half 2.OK.. I stand corrected... that's one (1)... was there another ? ESPN boxscore shows 10 TFL for Duke...

OK... still seems like a fairly big adjustment being made to me... JMHOAt the end it was 10. First half 8, second half 2.
I think Rosiek was by far the more significant. Racked up way too many missed tackles, particularly on those check down plays.Any updates on Laughery and Rosiek? I don't think either returned.
Agreed, the offsides was a blessing IMHO. It was closer to 3 yards and prior to the play being called dead Duke had players in the backfield. Take the points as a reward for a long drive, don't lose momentum.IMO completely do not support going for that - wasn't gimme yardage either. When you’re ahead by that margin, ALL you need is productive drives and points. More-so just the momentum game (like that Lions-49ers NFC Championship).
Momentum wise, getting those 3 points was very significant in that moment (especially compared to coming away empty).
They will get better but so will we. The way they play defense is high risk high reward. Glad we caught them a few times and the wildcat play was awesome.
Also I loved the 8 - 8 by Duke for what really was a 6th turnover.
Still don't like dumb mistakes like roughing the passer and not having a better play call to not give Duke the ball to close out the half.
I wasn't aware that they traveled to 'away' games.
Bret always discusses it in his post game presser. Ankle for AL and Hamstring for DylanAny updates on Laughery and Rosiek? I don't think either returned.
Each team got a few gifts! Duke would have been 4th and long settling for 3 at the end of the first half….. 3rd down incompletion ended with a roughing the passer… they got 7.I alluded to this in the game thread. The fumbled punt was luck, although one could argue the recovery wasnt. The other fumbles were caused by our tackling and actively trying to punch it out. Heckel's interception was all skill and was just incredibly beautiful too.
Ditto - but 4th floor. Met my wife there (also Hopkins 4th). Forbes 4th in 1978-79.Hopkins 1979-1980 second floor .

I was in 263 (or maybe 267 ? ) . the first room on the inside , just west of the double doors 1/2 way down the hall on the south side
My first game!LOL... Yeah, that 0-0 tie against Northwestern still haunts the memory banks...
LOL. So atrocious that we were leading at halftime in our first road game. Against a Power 4 team at that. SMH.Lets be honest and not Monday morning QB this one. The first half was absolutely atrocious and the final score is not indicative of how this game was played.
You couldn't look at one unit on our team that was outplaying theirs. We got beat in every conceivable aspect, but turnovers. When you win that battle 5-0, plus get dropped balls, uniform penalties, etc, you should win 100% of all games. Lets not pretend like there aren't major concerns
The first 35 minutes was horrendous, the first 45 improved to bad, HOWEVER, the 4th quarter was pretty much perfection. The late scores put some makeup on this one.
We can(and do) woulda, coulda, shoulda all games to death, but in this one.....we shoulda probably been down three scores at that half. The fact we were winning was a minor miracle.
Both lines and the corners have to be better. Thx corners have to be a LOT better. Glad we adjusted on the offensive side at the half. Quick slants, screens, play action.....it all slows down a pass rush and over active defensive ends.
Not sure we have things figured out on the defensive side yet. Worried about those interior linemen, but onward and upward.
I will be one of them.If they can win the next couple there might be 15,000 Illini fans at Purdue.
McCray … based on what I read a few weeks ago… was ill and out for a couple weeks. Not. a 100% week one. perhaps not quite back on track yet.I had a typo - he had one carry this weekend. Four other backs at Georgia had more. And two others had one carry. Josh - based on playing time so far - may have made a bad decision. And I imagine we could use him at some point this year.
Mine, too!My first game!
I was in the room where my roomies g/f, an art major , painted the rolling stones tounge logo on our window . it covered the entire window .Ditto - but 4th floor. Met my wife there (also Hopkins 4th). Forbes 4th in 1978-79.
Valentine's RB1. He's just not gona get the reps, which is unfortunate.I love Feagin. he's a load. but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I sure wish his acceleration from stationary was better. I wish he had more wiggle too, but guys that big generally don't have much
I remember Jerome Bettis being asked near the end of his career if he thought he had lost a step he replied "No. I never had one."I love Feagin. he's a load. but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I sure wish his acceleration from stationary was better. I wish he had more wiggle too, but guys that big generally don't have much
The guy goes down easier than Wes Lunt.I love Feagin. he's a load. but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I sure wish his acceleration from stationary was better. I wish he had more wiggle too, but guys that big generally don't have much
