It's at 14 and like the Illini, climbing.

I was thinking 7 but going for 6.

Last week Zaga had close home wins against St. Marys and only by 2 points over 13-9 San Francisco.

Last week IA state beat up on two cupcakes from middle to bottom of the little 12.

We were within a small amount of points of both of them in both polls the week prior. Our road win over #5 without (arguably) our 2nd best player should be enough to get us to 5.

Houston did not lose this week, plus we're already in front of them?

I don't think we jump either the Zags or IA State. Zags are so unimpressive, it's annoying, but I just don't see it. Up to #7 is all I see.

Thanks for the correction. I was looking at the Houston TT game and went by the "last updated 1/28" date but now see the game was actually 1/24. We are above them in the AP but below them in the coaches' poll. MSU was the other team that lost that we should jump that I was thinking of - not Houston.

Love it! And an appropriate jump. I'm glad the pollsters proved this week that they will allow a team that had a particularly impressive week (e.g., #9 Illinois) pass teams that "took care of business" (e.g., #8 Iowa State and #6 Gonzaga). I hate the logic of never letting a team on a hot streak jump teams in front of them that don't lose.

FWIW, these are some notable games this week for the teams in front of us...

#4 Duke at #14 North Carolina
#3 UConn at #22 St. John's (NY)
#2 Michigan at Ohio State

If we stay on a hot streak and go 2-0 once again, with a little bit of luck around the college hoops world ... we could find ourselves sitting pretty within the #1 seed club by next Monday. o_O
