Tough day for the "Chicago media hates us" devotees
Chicago media responds to winning and were particularly annoyed when TB said they had to support Illinois because it's Illinois.

But I digress. I'm just ready for the next challenge

The thing that stood out the most to me at the game yesterday was a TEAM on the field that looked like they knew what each person was supposed to be doing. No bumbled assignments with players running half way in only to turn and run off. Give a big shout out to special teams that did their job very well. It was a good start to what I hope is a brighter future. :congrats: :hailtotheorange:

I can't see football schemes and whatnot when I'm watching. Did we keep it as vanilla as anticipated? If we did, that could also be a reason for lack of mistakes.

Some of the lack of mistakes may have been that we kept it somewhat simple which was made possible by the 2 quick turnovers and TD strikes. I do however think that Lovie is a wise enough coach to have a plan which could have been that not using all of his weapons gives NC less to look at and plan for next week. The mistakes that I was talking about was more two fold: 1 management of player in knowing where they were to be and 2 simple things like no dropped punts and kickoffs. How many times in the last couple years have we seen that kind of error in games. I guess I mean "ORGANIZED"

Something just feels different about this team compared to last year. I have a lot of confidence that this coaching staff can take this group of players to the next level and maybe get them to 6-7 wins even with the difficult schedule. They beat an FCS team but also beat a team down offensively whose QB threw for over 3700 yards last year. The back-to-back-and almost back INT's on the first 3 defensive possessions were encouraging.

I feel that the staff will get the most out of these kids even if they aren't the most talented bunch. That's what has me excited again. I also really like all the weapons we have on offense from the receivers to the RB's but we will see if Foster can keep it up against stiffer competition.

I liked the hustle, energy and smart play. Those are all characteristics of a Lovie coached team and that alone will take you a long way in football.
