Illinois 60, Penn State 55 Postgame

That was painful. Just a pathetic effort from anyone not named Trent or Coleman, including coaches. We made no in game adjustments whatsoever. We press for one possession with 5 minutes to go? Then press up 6 with less than a minute to go and give up an uncontested three to cut it to one possession? Coleman played, what, 3 minutes in the second half and that was because Grandison got hurt. I don't get it at all.

I guess a win's a win, but man not an inspiring beginning to March. Sorry to be negative I know I will catch grief for it but that is how I see it.
No love for DMW

This is really scary! I really had to pass this up! Omg!

I'm not sure why Kofi doesn't play more engaged all the time on the perimeter, but towards the end of the game on Pickett, he was fleet of foot and I thought played really serviceable defense. Why can't he play that way more often?!

Sorry but anytime DMW shoots more shots than Kofi that is not efficient. Not just in how many pts each player produces but also in how that creates offense for others. Glad DMW woke up and hit some shots tonight but we have to feed Kofi. Edit: Want to be clear that I am focusing on game plan and not players. Amazingly appreciative of DMW!

Coach needs to find something to get Kofi juiced here on out.

We are so much better when he has an attitude. Just get him to play with an effort that matches his size.

( more $ for him too if he does )
After three years, what more can he do? The better question is, why should he have to do anything? This is a guy, presumably, playing his last college games.

Positives:
1.) Trent’s effort on D
2.) Coleman’s continued spark
3.) Freethrow shooting (huh?)
4.) Ugly wins are still wins

Negatives:
1.) Kofi looks tired
2.) Rebounding used to be a BIG part of our identity…now it’s well…not
3.) Defense was not up to snuff
4.) It’s March…if it’s a loose ball…get on the damn floor!

We win. And he shot because he was open. Kofi was doubled in a zone the whole night.

We were out shot and out rebounded. The free throws were the difference in the game.

Has anything been said about when RJ will be ready to return?
