From across DC this afternoon, agree to disagree about this. I'm delighted that they've resurrected those late '70s script jerseys this season and use the '80s/early '90s jerseys regularly, particularly the latter in orange (which Lou began in the late '80s; before then they were strictly home white and away blue.) Indiana has never had a problem with "old, dead jerseys," nor has UCLA, Kansas, UNC, and Duke (by and large), and I respect that these programs haven't constantly rebranded themselves as other schools have. Michigan's Block-M jerseys from the 60s and '70s are still the best ones they've ever had. The script Ohio State jerseys from the late '70s and '80s are still the best ones they've had. Purdue had much better jerseys in those years than they've had since, particularly when they wore gold in the '70s. Ditto MN and Iowa. Wisc and NW togs were always dull and uninspired. MSU: can't be arsed to have an opinion. Frankly, I don't care for the current Illinois hoops jerseys and lettering style. Happy to mix them up to please the fans, however. Would be happier if they wore the old designs much more often than they do. I suspect the DIA marketing people know something about this that we don't, and that we'll see those script unis regularly. Could do without seeing navy road unis more than once in a great while. I've never been a huge fan of orange but orange basketball unis are strong in a way football ones aren't. IMHO. As a romantic, middle-aged dude.
