I understand.:) Pull up a chair and smile with us.

Me, too. Lots and lots of good vibe to be absorbed watching young guys persevere and make life moments they'll never forget. With the cast of characters we have, it's a feel good moment like watching Rudy and Hoosiers movies … Good, hardworking young men making dreams come true

Not at all … I was being conversational about a few points in the game where we got picked/nearly picked while our ball handlers took their eyes off the defender and looked at BU for inordinate time for instructions … Someone asked me to "finish the thought," so I took a stab at it.

My takeaways from the game are:

  1. pretty much everything hoopsfan said at #68 (overwhelming positive statements), with my small exception that OSU doesn't look upper level
  2. that GB is proving to be the best thrift shop purchase ever
  3. that Feliz is a bit of a mixed bag, in that he seems to have mental lapses at times, but that he's very much a net positive with his D and tenacious drives
  4. that AG really got good minutes (hope it makes his mom happier) and BU was right-on with how he handled AG tonight
  5. that I don't really understand what the deal was with TJ tonight and can't really explain the Tyler continuing to get in the game
  6. that we are in trouble against Wisky if we don't do better against zone

Just to answer the question on Tev and to some extent Kipper. In close games especially, once a coach misses an opportunity to put a player in he basically has iced them. Tev opportunity was early in second half, when that didn't happen he was done. AG played a lot because he was much more in the flow of the game. BU son got in because Damonte and Feliz were in foul trouble, Trent was hurt. His son really has been a neutral effect lately.

Tyler only got a couple minutes when Trent banged his knee and Dre, AJ, and Monte were on foul trouble the last 2 minutes in the second half. He was just a bridge to halftime.

As for Tev, he's not quite as quick defensively.. maybe it was a matchup thing as the announcers said multiple times that BU was concerned with their guard heavy lineups

Good points. AG did do well on D and you had to think he would have made more shots than he did. As for Tyler, I guess I just hoped we would have had a lineup in with a better chance of scoring before the half. BU chose to "take a knee" by figuring Tyler would not dribble the ball off his foot or throw it away, but I was frustrated with the serious momentum shift occurring during closing minutes of first half and hoped for basket going into halftime.

That said, I definitely am a) not D1 coaching material and b) certainly missing a lot of perspective. Thanks for replying on the post

Seems like the team is cooler with him than we are, didn't you see the last timeout huddle?

If we beat Wisconsin on the road maybe we can get to #63 #No Love.
I'm wearing the O & B goggles too, but we're still 10-15 and are considered a "bad loss" to whatever bubble team we beat....

Probably need to get to .500 before you start seeing respect. We have followed them for 25 games.....those who haven't only see 10-15. You are what your record says you are and until 10-15 turns into 15-10, we won't be getting any love.

I missed it … What did you see?

For the record, I'm not against Tyler getting in because he's the coach's son or because he's non-scholarship. I think he gets put in the game because coach doesn't trust anyone else (who's not in foul trouble) to avoid doing something crazy - it's a tactical decision by the coach and I'm fine with that. It's just that I have a hard time believing that by this time in the season none of the rotational guys can be trusted to go into the game in that situation with admonition to avoid fouling. That said, hindsight shows that we didn't have a momentum issue coming out for the second half ...

And yet "Analysts" ought to be able to analyze beyond the obvious. what else do the spend the week doing in preparation for the game? Really not asking for respect, just what them to do some homework. Hell, I can broadcast the status of the standings.

For those wondering about Tev I don't remember when in the game it was but he missed a block out on a FT that ended in an offensive rebound and another foul. He got the hook and never came back in the game

Also Griffin couldn't buy a bucket and some of his shot were very rushed but I think those are shots he makes down the road and he played OUTSTANDING otherwise. He was rebounding, forcing steals and turnovers, and had some nice passes as well. He did have that dumb foul on the and 1 dunk but otherwise his most impact ful game by far.

I have definitely seen improvement in this team. Much more solid.

One point that makes me cringe is the two missed layups and FTs missed towards the end. That is a possible 8 points lost.
That is ~12% of our total score we lost.

I am sure the players will be working on FTs, and with pressure on all types of layups, simulating the real thing.
You gents are really coming along, keep up the good work.

keep on truckin

Ok seriously though this is like the 5th straight game I have seen less of Tevian then the previous. Obviously we are winning so it’s not like he is the missing piece, but as a fan it was frustrating to see the rotating door of Feliz, Williams, Nichols, and Griffin(shocked he had more playing time then Tevian but he hustled hard and I thought ripped down some good boards), meanwhile Tevian was sitting on the bench in his warmup for 30 straight minutes.
