Here's hoping that next year for the first time in a long time we're more than the sum of our parts. I think the last time that happened was probably 04-05, and our parts back then were A/A+ to begin with.

Can pencil in Frazier/Lucas, JCL, Kipper, Black, Tilmon/Finke or whoever in, but unless they know how to play well together, it doesn't mean much.

I'd say the 2008, tied-for-second-in-the-B1G team was greater than the sum of its parts.

When you are wrong you are wrong.

I thought Groce did a great job this game. Strong substitution patterns. Promoting aggressive play on defense. Getting players to distribute the ball...I saw more inside-out passes this game than in the past 10. Not every open shot has to get took, saw players finding good shots for their teammates. Hill played very well in the second half, displaying more concentration and ball IQ than we've been seeing in his funk. Good to see Lucas keeping his chin up after 2 terrible games and playing quite well. Good to see them finding Finke outside again, they had been going away from it a bit. Its hard to believe what a good offensive player Mav has become, he gets open outside and takes good shots, he makes goofy little post moves and drops the ball in. I think he will make some money overseas.

I dont know if they can play much better than this, but they can play much worse and so this was great to see. Great job coach, great job guys, go Illini, get Penn State!
I just finished watching the game on TiVo. Was able to avoid peeking at the score for almost 24 hours. Great win! And I actually agree that Groce had a solid game. The guys were really hustling on defense. We had a PG who can take it to the rim (and even shoot a little bit). The ball was moving and we showed some outstanding passing with 18 assists. Now let's analyze....

**** Tate & Thorne = 0 minutes, combined. Is Groce finally reading our November/December posts? What in the world took him 24 games to figure this out?

Go Illini!

McIntosh played kind of a stinker of a game, too. He did have one really good stretch where he couldn't miss, but it took him 17 shots to get those 21 points and he had 6 turnovers, most of which were crucial ones down the stretch.

After watching the game noticed something that I didn't see watching it the first time. When he was scoring he didnt have Lucas on him. He had kipper or a big. Lucas looked to be giving him fits. I'm not saying he didn't score against Lucas cause he did, All I'm saying is that for this game Lucas was in his shorts and I believe that had a big affect on his shooting %:thumb::cool::shield:

Got to give credit when it's due. Great effort overall.
Memo to coaching staff: Amazing what your team can due minus the hockey style substitution patterns!
