0 for 3 for a good shooter is fine...... 0 for 8 is not. If you are not on with your shot, and even the best have off nights....find other ways to help your team win. I would love to see Shannon work in the paint more often...and it seems he has no method to score there other than hard drives. He got a rebound tonight with a shorter defender on him and took the ball out rather than take advantage within 8 ft. of the rim. Hawkins is the same, while Mayer and DD know they won't get a better opportunity and will either score or get fouled....and occasionally miss....but I love to see aggressive scoring at the rim by bigs. Going to need that from Hawk and TSJ sooner rather than later. That said, I like seeing TSJ drive rather than chuck it up from 3. For all the time he spends practicing from the arc, he is a rather poor jump shooter. But he is almost automatic in the lane or from anywhere inside 15 ft. He should never shoot an airball from the arc and only does so because he rushes. He is reasonably accurate when he has time to set and shoot in rhythm...and he and Hawk should shoot every time they can do that...which would be 3-4 times a game at most. But both should shoot more within 10 ft. or less. Our opponents sure do.
