Wins, like love affairs of youth, are each their own uniquely beautiful story. And sometimes they even involve a good amount of pain.

That being said, there are some real reasons for concern. Our capacity to show up lookin like a group of random guys playing pickup at an open gym causes me some real emotional agony. There are mental focus and willpower focus issues that should hardly exist at this point in the season.

Still. The love story of each win is filled with heroic and triumphant details:

Coleman “I’m summoning my better self today” Hawkins.

Dain “lemme dance all over yo Red Scarlet dreams” Dainja.

Ty “out in the streets, they call it murder” Rodgers.

Matthew “okay, I guess I can start playin for real” Mayer.

Very frustrating first half. I really believe we are the only team that can consistently beat us; if we play with effort and focus we can beat anyone. But too often, we play soft, lazy, low IQ basketball and do not value every possession. It's maddening.

With that said, they did what they had to do in the second half, and the season hinges on whether or not they can give that consistent effort each and every game.

What a jag Mulcahy is. Anyway, Rutgers would be a really tough team to beat if anyone on their roster could play basketball.

Hate the general lack of discipline we saw from a lot of guys in the first half, but the second showed what we can do when we focus a bit better. Good looking win for the resume.

I’m not saying RJ needed to play today but was there a specific reason that he did not play?
