I'll take the win for sure, but I just cannot understand Brad's decisions regarding Ty today. Our defense looks more tenacious when he's on the court. Our offense flows much better when he's on the court. He has been one of our best players all season and he was far and away our best player that 1st half. I do not know what caused him to be benched 15min in the 2nd half and for such a big stretch in the 1st half. Makes no sense to me. Maybe that bad 2nd foul pissed Brad off, but good lord, he was doing so much fantastic today. Don't get it. Just don't.
I wish I could like this more than once as I have the exact same question. Hope it comes up in the presser, but I doubt it.

DGL’s defense looked solid while he was in there. 5-10 minutes per half to get a feel little by little would be nice. The management of Ty Rodgers has become a trend I don’t like. Seems like we all see it. Same with going zone which we saw a flash or two today. Someone is talking to Coach!!!

Having a good practice is different than an actual game. Takes a little bit to get used to the pace. Also, the case is in the back of his mind. Once he relaxes, he will start playing better. In the meantime, his teammates have to pick him up. Hopefully this will make them stronger.

Living in Northern Indiana under the winter perma-cloud, gray days, rain all the time made this week pretty blah for me. Was hoping this game would lift my spirits. We won and that's sorta all that matters, but man that was brutal.

Why is Ty Rodgers sitting on the bench so much of the time? There may be a valid reason but I am unable to figure it out. Seems like when he is in the game he scores and gets rebounds...
And he's easily our best player on defense, except maybe for Coleman
I don't get it either. If he misses FTs and has no outside shot, so what?
The rest more than makes up for that

Don't worry by March this game will be completely forgotten by everyone including the committee.
If we had lost that would've been different

IU did not make a three today yet wet we barely squeaked out a win, at home. Our half court offense is so brutal - what are we doing? Our defense is predictable and adjustments, if any, are way too late. The zone in the 1st half [an adjustment by Brad = wow, surprise, and in the 1st half] disrupted the IU offensive rhythm but more importantly allowed us to get out and run and make threes = take the lead. We played like a fringe top fifty team today, so Hummel souring on us should not be surprising.

When we need a stop, I want Ty on that floor. He wasn't on there in the final minutes against Northwestern. It took the very end to finally get him on there today. We have the lead. We need stops. Get Ty on the freaking floor and let him do his thing.
I agree 100 percent with all of this, but Ty can also help us GET the lead. He proved that in a big way in the first half. He was excellent, then barely sees the court while Shannon and Harmon are struggling.

It's bizarre. Brad is _admittedly_ bad about getting into the game and only coaching the five on the floor. He needs to start actively guarding against this. I don't know why it's been so bad lately and won't speculate. He just needs to fix it.

And yeah, Illinois is good defensively. We've known that all year. But really.. TJ, and Ty, and Coleman are very good. Quincy is fine. Relative to those guys, we hide Domask out there, and especially Goode and Harmon. Take Ty off the floor and it can take a few minutes for teams to figure out what they've got available to them. Forget to sub him back in and, well...
