Good win in my book.

I think the past two weeks have shown the biggest indicator for our floor and ceiling/barometer of how we play is the rebounding rate.

I feel fine defensively assuming Boswell and Andrej. The live and die by three thing with us is a myth.

But if we’re gonna play this slow, the margin of error is pretty much entirely dedicated by low turnovers and elite rebounding.

What a great day to get Boswell back , stop a frustrating 2 game losing streak and physically stomp the loosiers is a great day indeed.....................

Bam's return settled down the team . leading the defense to hold the loosiers to 51 points.............we gave up 86 to msu and 92 to wisky (overtime games) and now only 51 so that tells me how valuable Bam is to this team...........

Mirko-Man with an assortment of plays that resulted in points that should get him a B$G freshman of the week award............
Tomi was aggressive again and had numerous points and rebounds...........
Keaton with the shot of the season................wow..............

With Kylan, the whole offense runs more smoothly and efficiently. Defensively, this is an absolutely a different team.
Actually, not really. Offensively, the team is most efficient when Jake Davis is on the floor. And that's a fact not a guess.

However, defensively Illinois plays at different level when KB is on the floor. That is by far the most completitive team we have had in 35 years when they are at their best. We need all 8 players to compete for a national championship.

For me? I am focused on USC. They are physical and will give us fight. They have 5 players that score in double figures and they are going to be the tallest team we have played so far this year.

Hoosiers got MIRKed.

A lil Mirk before work.

How good did that first Boswell three feel across Illini Nation?

Like the promise of spring. The beginning of a great period of powerful growth and exploding joy.

And how much better is the defense with BAM back up in that booty?

Eh. Let’s take a moment to savor this historical era where our basketball program is on a completely different level, towering over Indiana’s - and the whole country knows it.

that's some next level gif-ing right there. I'm jealous. lol

And defending without fouling

However, if you are old like me, you remember what he did to Deon Thomas and can never forgive him. He will always be a no-good rat to me.

Very bittersweet victory, today.

Bitter because it just further proves that we woulda won by double digits against both MSU and Wisconsin with Boswell, and we would have been raving about our 16th straight right now and possibly getting into the top two tomorrow.

Sweet because Boswell is back much sooner than we all expected. Over a month ahead of schedule, too. And his impact was immediate upon return, en route to a dominant victory against Indiana. I personally consider that a revenge game for the football disaster. Lol.

Now it's time for a little LA road trip(Ew.). Beat the crap out of both LA schools and we're on a 3-game winning streak, with a lot of momentum heading into the matchup with scUM.

Go Illini!
They said all along "Mid-February" for Boswell. Yesterday was "Mid-February."

Yep. Would've rolled both of them, but part of life. If I had been born into an extremely wealthy family, id live on my own private golf course in a warm island somewhere, surrounded by smoking hot women, endless high end bourbon, personal chef, etc.

But life doesnt always go as planned.

apologies to the football team but IU football scored more against us than IU basketball

When was the last time Indiana was relevant? Like 2013???
2023, actually. Came in 2nd to Purdue and made it to Round of 32. Before that, Crean took them to Sweet 16 in 2016.

Consistently relevant? Yeah: 2013, when Tyler took them down as #1 at the buzzer at the SFC and they were touted as a Final Four shoe-in. Then Syracuse's zone shut them down cold in the Sweet 16.

You apparently didn't understand my observation.

Overall yes… but I think we saw the entire spectrum in matchups during him out.

Purdue and Nebraska, despite being the two best teams we played, their style/personnel made it more beneficial for Jake spacing. Same with the Maryland zone.

MSU we really could have used a change of pace downhill and uber physical guard.

Having the optionality is something we need long term. The beauty of our game is we can evolve and adjust (despite people telling me our coach doesn’t adjust)

Great game by the Beloved. Elite game to have the recruits in for. Nice to have our NBA guys in the HOUSE for them too. Hopefully Cole Kelly signs before he leaves today. Play like this and we can win out. LFG !!!!!

No need for a long dissertation from me. They played their asses off today. You can’t play harder than we did today. Every 50/50 ball, every hustle play was ours. The defense in the second half was exceptional.

Kylan Boswell is a DUDE.
