Wow! Just wow!
Second half adjustments were great. The defense started hedging further out before going into drop coverage. This really threw off Iowa and changed the game. And we made a concerted effort to pound the ball in the paint.
Andrej was amazing on Stirtz and getting to the hoop.
Shoutout to Tomi. We went inside to him and he made the key baskets to get us the lead for good.
And Keaton…My God. He’s just a stud. What a game!
Lastly…We need to set up a GoFundMe to get @nyc_illini to the Final Four. We are 6-0 with him in attendance. This is not a coincidence. Illini Nation needs him there.

Really cool seeing the current students celebrate. Most weren’t even born for 05. Now this is *that* team for that generation. A lot of lifelong diehards for whom this will be their “good ol days” when they’re in their 40s making sure our NIL is well stocked lol.
While drinking heavily watching this game, I kept saying LETS run and push Iowa. But played an Iowa slow game. Luckily we pulled it out. Not happy with offensive game plan!

So for real what was up with the horn?
The center scoreboard basically broke, and there was no way to stop the horn from blowing aside from just turning the whole thing off. They played the entire second half with no jumbotron in the middle of the court.

Iowa made it to the Elite 8 but they finished their last 22 games with a 12-10 record. CRAZY!!

Trip was worth it. My daughter in Cleveland called me in Columbus at 1230pm yesterday and said let's go to Houston. I got a 425 flight she got one. Met her sister and my granddaughter and saw great game. The trip of a lifetime. Flying back to Ohio tomorrow morning.
He always makes the correct plays, offensively and defensively. He, literally, NEVER turns the ball over.
