Kofi dominated. Ayo looked great except for a few sloppy turnovers late in the game. We need him to keep being aggressive offensively.

This is gonna sound weird, but I don't even think we played exceptionally well? Like we played a really solid game and Kofi continues to surpass even our wildest expectations, but that was just a pretty thorough handling of the #5 team in the country without anything really crazy going our way offensively, right?

Gotta hand it to Underwood and staff. They had an incredible gameplan to run Michigan off the three point line and funnel things to Kofi, who wasn't having any of it tonight!

Credit the players for executing the gameplan too. Job well done all around! :clappy:

Agreed. 1-11 from three point line and to win like that.

I though the interior passing looked good at times in games before but Kofi and GB are really starting to work well together. We looked good tonight.

Michigan making 3 treys gets them to the NIT. They are a tough, good, team, but they can be had by anyone playing defense.
Sure thought the Illini trip to the black hole after 37 minutes lasted only one minute but was as poor in play as any team ever. Fortunately, they finished this one off...law of averages comes through...1 for 20. This team is getting better and the team is trying to be aggressive and play smart but old habits of taking it into traffic without a plan and throwing lazy passes simply has to be eliminated. I have no problem getting beat when nothing is going in or the other team makes shots all night....but dumb basketball gets you beat with a season ending in Feb.

On the other hand, Illini bigs, including Kofi, Georgi, and Kipper played exceptional games and need to expect that of themselves every night...in the case of all improve the FF shooting but kudos for all around play. Kofi did make 6 in a row but then missed a couple in the clutch. It is obvious he is working hard on that aspect and has improved his confidence and execution at the line. Georgi was simply Georgi and Kipper played another strong game off the bench and needs to be that man every night...not 3 times a year.

Kofi for President....got to love that kid.
