Winning plays. Just winning plays. Perfect defense to a perfect offensive possession. From the negate by CoHawk on the initial penetration, the quick support double by RJ followed by aggressively getting back to his man to negate the first option out of the passback, followed by Damonte getting back up to his feet after being crushed by the Murray screen, to Kofi seeing Damonte hit the ground and making the right decision to closeout to deny Keegan's shot, to Damonte hustling to close out on Kyler making that 3 not as easy as it originally appeared, to RJ and Trent crashing the board for that rebound, to Kofi running from past the 3pt line as soon as the shot went up, jumping over 2 Iowa players, and just getting enough of his fingertips on the ball to hit it against the rim away from the Iowa defenders, to still not giving up on it and knocking that carom with his offhand away from Tony Perkins, to Trent outworking and outhustling Keegan Murray to get that loose ball and seal it.
Iowa played perfect offense (illegal screen aside, but it's not like refs call that foul). Illinois played as perfect defense and rebounding as they could. When people ask what the difference is between winning and losing, it's the effort shown in this possession. Illinois' effort won it for them.
