Illinois 76, Michigan 53 Postgame

#426
I just looked and the positions have been reversed, Illinois #5 and Iowa #6.
Even though they still show the same efficiency.
Can't explain that either, but it feels closer to reality now. (Still think we should have separation)
It's due to other games affecting efficiency adjustments, and the two teams being so close overall in adjusted efficiency that tiny changes will flip the teams back and forth.

Yea. It looks like 1 game from today was added and we swapped places with Iowa. Virtual tie. Its math so weird stuff can happen. Like Houston being #4.

Well, just caught up on all 18!!! pages of this thread. What a great game. I have this one on DVR and it will stay there for quite awhile to be watched and rewatched until the bits and bytes fade away.

Looking forward to OSU and 2 scUM losses to MSU. :shield:

I'm still in a state of shock. Did Illini really blow out Michigan at Michigan? Was it just an all-time great dream?

I want proof. When, where will this game be re-telecast on electrical television? Or internet?

This reality: flying one of my Illini flags on patio today.

Thanks again, FIGHTING ILLINI!

give me all the highlight videos and ESPN coverage this morning. Definitely one of those "call your dad/friend/family" type games. Start planning your upcoming weekends accordingly:
  • Selection Sunday — 6 p.m. ET March 14
  • First Four — 4 p.m. start on Thursday, March 18
  • First round — 12 p.m. start on Friday, March 19, and Saturday, March 20
  • Second round — 12 p.m. start on Sunday, March 21, and Monday, March 22
  • Sweet 16 — 2 p.m. start on Saturday, March 27, and 1 p.m. start on Sunday, March 28
  • Elite Eight — 7 p.m. start on Monday, March 29, and 6 p.m. start on Tuesday, March 30
  • Final Four — 5 p.m. start on Saturday, April 3
  • NCAA championship game — 9 p.m. Monday, April 5
Are the links where they post any of the ESPN coverage videos? I missed Sportscenter and am not seeing anything?

Something I haven't seen anyone comment on...Kofi's D. Hunter Dickinson literally didn't score a basket against him. He hit 1 shot and that was against Giorgi. And one of the fouls that was called on Kofi when Hunter was maneuvering was CLEARLY a chicken wing and the whistle should have been offensive, not on Kofi. He played a heckuva game on defense last night and nobody is giving him the credit he deserves.

"Do we have your attention now? No? You We will" I love this on their board in the locker room. This is from the most recent video posted of the celebration

Kofi got away with a couple fouls I thought just based on how he has been officiated previously. Overall, glad officials did not try to put their stamp on this one.

Especially Frazier since he plays so hard on d and without Ayo has had to be our primary PG.
Exactly.

I think some people thought I was implying earlier that the college game is easy. It absolutely isn't. The fact that our guys play hard both ways and don't look visibly tired at the end of games is a credit to their conditioning (and likely genetics, too)

It went both ways, there was a lot of contact on both ends to start the game the officials just weren't calling - Kofi got fouled a couple of times on shots against Dickinson that weren't called, but then they called some weak fouls against both later on, so not sure that that was about. Michigan media was complaining about the fouls on Dickinson after the game, but they could have called a lot more on Dickinson and Kofi alike

At the end of the day they called 20 fouls on us and 14 on Michigan and we were leading the entire second half, the officiating had nothing to do with it

Totally off topic, but I feel the need to copyright the “Curbelo Shoulder Shrug” he gives the refs when he gets called for a foul
