I do think he can be sped up and sometimes makes risky passes due to pressure to make plays being out there as the point gaurd. We definitely need Ty on the floor for his defense and rebounding but with the others we usually have on the floor we can help him with the ball handling and distribution. With our roster we are not going to have that one guy that gets 5-8 assists a game but we are capable of having 3-4 guys getting 2-3 assists a game.
Ty has turned out to be a serviceable pg as long as he stays within his capabilities, even though that is NOT his natural position. He is not a 5-8 assist to 1-2 turnover type gaurd and not someone who can break down the defense with his ball handling. What he can do is ball security, start the offense, and abuse the other gaurds by driving/backing them down to the basket. This team has shown the ability to play well together and if we keep that up we are going to be a force come March.
