This. This is what we’ve been missing most of the year. Someone to takeover the game when it was falling apart. Freshman of the year.

Also, the entire premise in unfounded nonsense. You CANNOT be standing behind someone and reach around them WITHOUT fouling.

Number 69 on KenPom. Less of a jump than I expected since MSU is number 4.

We were up three with just over 2:00 left. There was no reason for that possession to look like anything until 10 seconds were left on the clock. At that point, we had the ball in hands we wanted (Ayo) with a high screen option to his right and Frazier freezing the defense on his left. He had options to use the screen or attack the middle (with the kick out to Frazier if they collapsed).

In that situation, when he said those words, we were in the exact position we wanted to be in.

This late in the season, that is a pretty significant jump.

Edit: and now we're 68. Regardless, you want to look at the change to the AdjEM which is what the rankings are based off.

I think Dakich said that he meant it wouldn't end well if Ayo tried to blow by Winston.
Instead, he just pulled up and drained it. Then did it again.

Congrats to the boys on an amazing win and for shutting the critics up (including me). Program defining win. Amazing resolve when all momentum was lost. I was sitting there saying ok Ayo you gotta show up if you are going to headline the program, and he did. Looking forward to a fun February and maybe even B1G Tournament of good competitive Illini basketball.

Terrific win. Lots of energy all night. Pretty good from the line. TO's to burn . . . 24 I think? That's a ton.
Need to keep playing like that (I think they will) and really need to get a road win.
We're still due to hurt someone on their floor.

If you say so... the whole possession looked confused about who should have the ball out front. I doubt that is the shot anyone was hoping for until it went in.

Apparently the KenPom system is nowhere done recalculating because we are now 68 (up 1 more) and MSU is now 6 (down 2).
Wasn't that way 10 minutes ago

Hard to believe how much better we are at stopping the drive compared to recent years.
Giorgi is so good. Feliz played a great game and does so many things, always around the ball.
