I think that was Fran’s last trip to SFC as a coach. Iowa is a dead program.

The stats:

2s: 23/34 (68%)
3s: 9/29 (31%)

Turnovers:
Iowa: 16
Illinois: 5

That was the difference. I had 85-65 in the pregame thread so nearly exactly what I expected. Good to see Ben on the bench.

Not a perfect night by any means, but amazing answer after being embarrassed. Some quick thoughts:

- Baffling it took 28 games to finally find our “Best 5”, but I’m glad we made it
- Ben looks so comfortable not being the main piece. Looked much more relaxed tonight
- Body language of DGL was disappointing
- Love KJ, but the offense is built around Tomi. As he goes, everybody else goes.
- Tre looks confident again. We need that. Great performance by him.

A healthy Tomi, some signs of life from Tre, more offense at the rim and better defense overall? I’ll take it even knowing Iowa is not very good. Take this to Ann Arbor please!

Tomi, Boz , Tre and even Ben off the bench played well. However we really need and miss Rez. Iowa beats us on the boards. We are going to need our guards to defend better so our bigs don't have to help so much and hit the glass. Great win and nice to not be yelling at the TV or stressed out for a change.

Really good win. Loved the changes to our defensive sets tonight. While it was obvious that Iowa didn't have it tonight, we played an excellent team game tonight and looked very well prepared.

So insiders, did other coach(es) adjust our defense and offense tonight, because changes certainly were made...
