Man I didn’t get to watch this game since I went to the CFB semi final and it’s given me a lot of perspective for the folks who are tired of all the complaining in the game threads…..

We were seemingly in control right from the jump and covered the spread, was the second half really that uninspiring??

That post was also in response to a comment pointing out that Michigan didn’t beat Penn State by 40 points.

It read "Did they have Penn State down by 27 at half?" -- meaning michigan gets a pass for their 2pt win since they weren't winning by 27 at half, but our team shall be subjected to doom and gloom for winning by 26 because we led by 27 at half.

Quite the ridiculous perspective.

I never said anything about Penn state.

Michigan stomps teams when they’re up big at half. By 40+. Why do we let our foot come off the gas? Why not just embarrass teams instead of starting bad habits? All I’m really trying to say here.

We’ve beat 4 by 40

Yes one of those was Gonzaga for Michigan but the overall point that they roll over everyone is still shaky even before the loss today as Michigan had some close games vs not so good teams like wake and Penn state

That’s 7 top 100 teams by at least 28.

Yes they lost today and I’m happy they did, and they almost lost the other night.

Why is everyone so upset with my post? This team has a chance to be SPECIAL. I’d like to see them demolish a team and prey on their food when it’s there.. not play a half effort half at home when you have a chance to stomp a team. But somehow I’m the problem?

Maybe a couple more than that now.

If anyone cares (I encourage you not to) you can take a spin back through the thread and see for yourself.

We have a good, smart, positive fanbase who was happy with our win. But some people can only focus on a couple negative posters instead of basking in the win with the rest of us.

I didn’t say or imply you’re a problem and wasn’t upset with your post.
Just pointing out the data given the parameters you set forth. Point was they aren’t the only team that wins by 40 and they don’t only win by 40 or more. They experience variability just like we do and complaining about not winning by 40 in a game we won by 26 seems overkill.

Simple difference of opinion but there was no vitriol in my post

Their avg margin is 25, ours is 20

I did read the thread and it was pretty mild compared to Penn St and Nebraska for sure

So I’m unsure why you’d make such an extremely facetious post like that other than to purposely agitate people

Shouldn’t you at least set a better example than the people you’re complaining about?

It's pointless. There are a few posters here who wake up at 5 a.m. to start their day as That Guy.

If they take issue with a post (and they will, it's their entire schtick), if they can twist your point into something they can take issue with, they will call you out relentlessly no matter how much tongue you have in your cheek, or how many attempts you make to clarify something you posted.

When they can't counter your actual point, they will build obnoxious strawman arguments even though they don't know what that means.

It's the people we've all dealt with in meetings, school, and extended family and friends gatherings.

That Guy.

The thread goes 10 more pages because of That Guy.
The meetings last 2 hours longer because of That Guy.
Class can't move forward because of That Guy.
You dread going out and meeting a group of friends because of That Guy.
You can barely last through the holidays because one of your cousins or uncles is That Guy.

They can't wait to prove their point and/or prove you wrong. Their life is so devoid of recognition and acceptance that they simply must strive each and every day to Prove Their Point.

And they Just. Can't. Let. It. Go.

If you call them out they will feign being "attacked" and pretend they are "just trying to understand what you're saying".
