I think team is going to be fun to watch this year. I’m excited about Feliz and Giorgi!

Who was in the game when it went from 71-48 after Georgi's 3, to much closer?
Literally, everyone.

Everyone played. (14 players, by my count, with the Griffith and Cayce being the final two, in the last few minutes.)

So I’ve been listening all night. Here’s what it sounds like, would love those watching to correct where needed:
1. Trent is Trent. #1 alpha dog and deserves to be
2. Feliz can create scoring. Clearly second best offensive player. Defense too?
3. Ayo - not a loud debut but announcers have done some gushing on how smooth he is. Probably a starter, but not the star so far
4. AJ - solid as we knew he would be. My gut says he ends up being the leader oof the bench with minutes on par with any starter
5. Kipper - 1 for 10 start on shooting with at least one missed bunny. Concerning given his existing consistency issues.
6. Georgie- hype was real, dude gets it a lot more than we ever could’ve expected from a #300+ true freshman. That said, fouling will be an issue that could keep his minutes under 20

Other: Griffin can shoot, Kane is raw, TUnderwood getting rewarded for his sit out year with some exhibition minutes

What did I get wrong?
(Edit: Tevian with Kane in the “raw” sept)

But AG played earlier than that, right? That deny-steal-between the legs-fluid left handed bounce pass to the cutting Ayo play was sweeeet.

Positives:
Feliz looks good. Hopefully he will be able to keep things up as the talent level makes a large, rapid jump.
Trent - better in the first half than the second, but he did Trent things.
Giorgi - didn't look lost, hit a couple shots, hustled.

Negatives:
Kane - he looks like people who watched practice said. Didn't play much and didn't have much impact. Hopefully by new years he'll be more comfortable.
Kipper - couldn't hit a shot. Not a good start for someone we want to see consistent leadership from. Also, had to play far too long at the 5 (not his fault but concerning).
Ayo - lots of turnovers. Scored some points, mostly off turnovers, but did not impress against some clearly inferior competition.
Rebounds - they out rebounded us. An ominous sign to be sure...

Others:
AJ and DW both did good things (rebounds and drawing fouls), but neither really looked aggressive on the offensive side. We will need one of them to step up on that front I think.
Griffin and Jones didn't play a ton, both had some freshman moments but also did some good things.

Overall, maybe a C?

Don't want to see Tyler in a regular season game unless we're up by 30 and its under 1:00
With only 10 scholarship players healthy right now, the staff needs to play all to see who can contribute. Given the style of play, you can see why.

We are going to get slaughtered on the boards in B1G play without Adonis.

Trent, Ayo, and Feliz are going to terrorize by mid-season.

Feliz just make plays. Uses his body well and rebounds above his size on both ends.

Ayo looked like a freshman with lots of potential but with things to learn. Seemed to be pressing early on especially. He does look like he's going to be a good one.

Trent is just a stud. Made plays on both ends of the court. Active and dangerous.

Kipper had good looks on his shots but just couldn't knock them down. Otherwise he had a good game.

Damonte is just quietly solid. I feel like he could do more on both ends, making plays offensively and being disruptive on d, but he seems to make the right play anyway.

AJ played like a senior should. Just really solid on both end. Smart.

Griffin can definitely shoot and has some length to make plays on defense. Also looks like a good passer too. I think he's gonna be a good player with time.

Tevian looks like a player but right now it's all looks. Forced some plays on offense that weren't there. Dude is crazy long though and could be could be a great rebounder. They played him at the 5 for a bit too.

Kane is raw and looks the part. He is big and skinny.

Georgi never stops talking, he's always communicating on both ends. Seems like a smart player and has no shortage of confidence. Definitely a nice stroke and is not afraid to drive it with solid quickness. His biggest thing to work on is defensive rebounding because I honestly don't know he if he had any.

We will go as far as the guards take us. We have a lot of lanky guys with length, but they are not quick. Little quick guards
will continue to give us trouble.

Trent and Feliz will be a nice 1-2 punch. Ayo needs time to get going. He’ll get there sooner than later.

Very happy with a lot of things I saw. I know some things were due to it being am exhibition game against a D3 team where there were a lot of experiments with line-ups, etc. Really excited about this team.

Overall team looks much faster and the shooting seems improved as well. They can actually run the 7 second offense unlike last year.

Half court offense was still a struggle as there was a lot of standing around and not a ton of good looks.

Defensively lots of turnovers forced and they look very uncomfortable but I noticed a lot of times where we had multiple people closing on the same guy and left someone else wide open. Mostly what led to the rebounding margin.

Trent's hustle in an exhibition game was amazing -- talk about leading by example.
Giorgi looked very serviceable, which is an enormous triumph for a freshman big. Given the strength at other positions that might be all we need to make the tourney.
Feliz can do it all -- rebound, defense, score -- just a tremendous player.
Ayo did not look ready to be a positive this year -- yet. Hopefully it was freshmen jitters. But Feliz outplayed him in every possible way.
Other guys did about what was expected except for Kipper's off shooting night.

Alan Griffin will be a star. I fully expect him to improve a lot over the course of the season.

Lol @ the Ayo complaints. Finished every layup he had I believe. I remember when we couldn't do this if the basket was twice the size and we had a VIP invitation to the rim.

He's going to be very good.

OK, whoever is working on the 5 minute highlight video is now behind schedule! Man up!
