We need the currently projected 1 seeds to tale some losses. UCONN has St John’s, and that’s it as far as possible losses. michigan has us, duke, purdue, msu(?), Duke has michigan, nc twice, clemson, virginia, arizona has texas tech, kansas (twice), houston, iowa state, byu (?).

If we can finish 7-1 and win a couple btt games we could get one of the coveted 1 seeds.

I could point to so many moments where the skill was a sight to be seen. But as far as moments where we just had the mojo:

Keaton’s 3/4 halftime buzzer beater

Humrichous hitting the catch-and-shoot inbound with two seconds on the clock.

Tomislav getting a T for taunting resulting in two missed free throws and free chicken nuggets for the crowd.

Tough night for Chris Collins truthers (I am one).

I couldn't believe he kept the run and jump/double Keaton up top on for Soo long. It worked early on but I thought he should have gotten out of it after 5 minutes. Maybe throw it in sporadically as a switch up...

There's just too much positional size and shooting on this team to stay in it.

Even if Illinois shot 30% from 3 tonight, NW was soo far out of rotations that they were gonna get destroyed on the boards.

--Illinois was gonna win this on talent alone but it felt like Collins essentially went, "we aren't letting Keaton Wagler beat us!" And lost by 40 because 5 other guys got going because of it 🤦

Listening to Chris Collins postgame presser…as much as I hold a grudge against NW for their treatment of TSJ, I really like Collins. Good coach, good dude, and just straight up honest in that presser. No BS like other coaches will give after getting absolutely stomped. This is a rough year for them but I hope he doesn’t have to bear the brunt of it; he deserves that job for as long as he wants it imo.

This team is focused, this team means business, and they are letting the world know about it. I'm proud of our players, our coaches, and our team for the level of commitment they've shown on and off the court during this incredible stretch of form our team has demonstrated recently. Getting Kylan back is going to feel like a midseason acquisition at the trade deadline at this point.

It’s really fun seeing all the different coverages teams have to try on Keaton and how this team is able to burn each one of them. You are one heck of a player when teams change their entire identity just to attempt to slow you down and you don’t even notice they did anything.

I love beating NW as much as everyone else, but Chris Collins is a 100% class act. He was flat out straightforward in acknowledging that we're superior.

He could love coaching close to home, having his kids around immediate family, etc., but man.....he had every opportunity to take on a huge job somewhere after those tournament appearances and didn't bother. Again, might enjoy his setup, which if that's the case, good for him. He's living his best life. From a career perspective....he could have had more. Now, he's in a rebuild with resources that probably aren't enough to sustain success.
