You would think ESPN might have the 2 stooges calling the game mention this fact ..... instead of continually b*@wing Duke, Iowa, Texas, anyone not called Illinois
Totally agree. The crack stats crew at ESPN decided it was more relevant to highlight our all-time record against top 2 teams (or something like that). I’m pretty sure every team’s record against those teams is crap.

Coming back to beat #2 Texas in OT in MSG? Amazing

Making Iowa and Duke sit and wait while you come back to beat #2 Texas in OT in MSG? Satisfying

Making Iowa wait to get thumped by 15 while you come back to beat #2 Texas in OT in MSG?

You're allowed to hit the backboard trying to block the ball. It was just a blown call, simple as that. If the backboard is hit so belligerently that it affects the shot, the refs can call a tech. Its a weird rule from what I've seen.
I stand corrected, appears to be a big point of confusion.

In that case, I agree. Bad call. He either missed it got a piece. Bad call in real time and there must have not been enough evidence to overturn.

That's what I love about him. You don't have to be a bunch of five stars but you will work your @ss off on defense. Total junkyard dog mentality paired with great talent evaluation, recruiting, hiring, motivation, and building to the future.
Kudos to Josh for the hire but damn, Brad is a star.
I wish you guys could see what I see. If you watched practice you’d think every kid would want to transfer. No one is safe from Brads rage. But they know he loves them just as much as he gets in them, and that’s evident from the post game celebrations. Fun fact, Ayo was the most MFed player of the BU era

I, for one, $-(($#@57 love it.

You've got some kind of culture if you can play that bad and still beat a team that good away from home.
I think Texas is a better TEAM but we have more talents and most of them chose the right timing to turn on in this game.

Watching the shoot around in Vegas and seeing the focus on full court pressure and quick hits on offense was worth every penny of the trip, honestly. I'd pay thousands to sit in on those every game or to take in the practices.

The better team is the team that wins. Unless we lose, then it is the losers that are the better team.
You are absolutely right but I guess the better word is Texas was a little bit more disciplined and coherent.

I don't ever recall that being the case. First, almost all basket interference by hitting the backboard would be when trying to block the ball. You could try and miss and totally screw up the shot by hitting the backboard.

The point of contention seems to be that once you've hit the ball you can now hit the backboard, but I've never heard that.

You were grounded a lot as a kid huh?

So much bad in the first 30 minutes. Texas had our boys spiraling. They just kept fighting on defense. Shout out to young Mr. Harris. He doesn’t do anything at 90%. He dogged Carr and Hunter into exhaustion.
Hawkins is making the leap. His shot is a work in progress, but he is everywhere, all the time.
Mayer kept us in it early & Shannon got it going late.
Jayden Epps is going to be an Illini legend. Is there a fan club for him yet? I don’t think his heart rate changes.
The best part about all of it is, we played well under our ceiling and beat the # 2 team in the country.
These guys are just getting warmed up.
