KJ is the best player in the team. Full stop.
He didn’t have a good game, but suggesting anyone should be starting over him is a massive overreaction. It’s not like Boswell isn’t turning the ball over…
Did you miss Boswell's second half? He helped lead us to a 13-0 run with KJ on the bench, scoring 14 for the game. We had 3 turnovers as a team in the second half.

I agree, KJ has the most talent on the team. He is currently not using it to its full effectiveness for some reason. Four TO's today to lead the team. Three missed front ends in crunch time; 2-8 from the field. He did have seven assists so that was a HUGE positive. I love the guy, but he's either still hurt or has hit a wall. He will bounce back because he has too much talent, but we need to stack wins. Full stop. That's why I say that's the lineup "right now."

So happy to see BU play the guys who were getting it done and stick with it, and allow those guys to get the job done.

Bowell had a rough start, but really had a solid last 15 minites, Will was phenomenal in the 2nd half, DGL just gets this team going even without an overly impressive stat line, and Morez was a damn beast.

Good blueprint in this game for this team going forward. Still have to shoot the open 3s but much more of the focus needs to be on penetrating and on getting Rez the ball down low. We cut our 30pt attempts significantly. Typically 3pt shots account for around 1/2 our attempts. Today just 1/3. And I think we looked a lot more dangerous for it.
This is the way going forward. The Illini actually may improve their three-point percentages if they don't make it their primary focus.

Tre White. He still has a huge role on this team.

Get refocused and do not lose confidence. This team needs you to step up and show us fans how much of an asset you can be.
No doubt Tre has a lot of talent that is still locked. He just needs to continue grinding. Currently he's not much of a big threat from the 3 point line, we have seen a midrange game from him but not alot of it, and when he isn't getting the openings for his cuts to the baseline he ends up being a ghost on the court.

I agree, but I feel they can still play real well when KJ is struggling and needs some time on the bench to regroup.

I'm just glad our coaching staff made some adjustments.. they were forced adjustments if they didn't want to get ran off the floor. Brad is realizing who has has to play and who is unplayable right now.. Tre / KJ / Ben were all on the bench during that under 5 run. KJ came back in and OSU got right back into the game. If KJ keeps TO-ing and shooting under 60% FT his minutes are going to have to diminish if we want to make a run in March. We need 20 point, 7 assist 7 rebound KJ with less than 3 TOs to be the team we want to be. Gotta get KJ right... not to mention we stopped chucking 3's in the 2nd half.

Great points. Now, that Illinois doesn't have to chuck up a ton of threes going forward, maybe this plays into Tre's game--the mid-range scoring and scoring at the basket game.

I promise not to think about you watching the first 5 minutes shirtless ;)

Paging an Illini Fan from Indy to see if we need still need to move on from Brad…
Really? He said that??? It’s amazing how quickly people forget where he has taken us and where he have been. How many Big Championships and Big Tourney wins does he have? People used to want to fire Henson all the time too. I’ll take Brad any day over any other coach in the Big. People still forget this is a young team and Brad does make adjustments after he sees trends. He’s not going to switch much on a game or 2 Hiccup.

Ask that bozo (not fan) if he recalls the John Groce era. Direct him to Kenpom if he needs assistance.
