Now it's BTT time. Now it's time to roll. Will the I-L-L-I-N-I on the front of the jerseys (of whatever color the fashionistas here hope for) pop? Make it so!

If we could manage to put 2 halves together consistently we would be a dangerous threat to mess up a lot of brackets.

Few thoughts. Jeffrey Anderson should be working at McDonalds. KJ and Ben are sometime the most frustrating players ever but we've gotta ride or die with them. No more complaints...these guys give their all. Lastly, anyone calling for Brad's job should just hop off the Illinois fan train right now. Been an Illini fan 26 years and this is top five proudest moments I've ever had as a fan of this team especially after the direction we looked to be headed post Duke loss.
'79 UIUC chemistry grad so I got to watch Lou's teams from the beginning with Neil Breshnahan at center. Loved watching ALL of Lou's teams. Starting to love watching Brad's team the same way now but for different reasons. Lon and Bill had some good teams for us but it just wasn't the same. Groce? nope

I want to give credit where it's due ... Would have been SO EASY to quit and pack it up after getting absolutely obliterated against Duke ...

This team came together ... We are seeing the best version of Tre White (what I like to call summer Tre) and the best version of Ben tonight ...

Get Morez back in the fold ... We will be cooking with gas ...

My one negative tonight ... The defense ... Hamer has GOT TO GO ... And that is all I will say about that ... Do not want that one negative to outweigh all the positive tonight ...

How about getting rid of Hamer and bring Sean in to replace him?

At the beginning of the year, if you would have offered me 12-8 I probably would have taken it given our youth, inexperience and the depth of the BIG. To get there after all we’ve been through is a pretty darn good coaching job.

And just a couple of thoughts on Purdue: for being such a development program:
1. Heide and Colvin are almost unplayable
2. Furst was a top 100 4 star who is basically a big body and that’s it.
3. Have to play Smith 40 minutes because they don’t have anyone else who can run point.

I think they will be a force next year with TKR, Smith, Loyer and Jacobson but might have a pretty steep drop off after that.

Anyone spot anything weird with this box score? (aside from our 37% three point shooting lol)

Yep. 6 offensive rebounds. Purdue's strategy was to crash the defensive boards to take away our biggest strength. They succeeded. Very obvious during the entire game and I figured it would cost us a win. But the Hummer's best game yet was a huge help.

The million dollar question......

When Morez comes back, who goes to the bench? White CLEARLY thrives in the starters role.
I’m not sure we will be getting back version of Morez that we had a few weeks ago.
I assume he won’t be immediately reinserted in the staring lineup. Strength & conditioning will definitely be impacted by the time on the shelf. Running in the pool isn’t the same as batting on the hardwood.
