He's one of our guys, isn't he? An assisstant in Champaign for I think one season. Regardless: he's a very good coach, very classy. I wish him the best, except when the Illini confront the Boilers. Or Broilers, or Layers. Or whatever they are.
No, Painter took over for Bruce at SIU when Bruce came here.

But yeah, he's at the absolute top of the heap as a player development coach. And our guy has gone win for win with him.

Huh, Underwood getting spicy in the postgame about a question about how close he was to getting a technical when the ref blew that KJ call.
I honestly think Brad was fine with a technical there had he got one. He was HOT, and honestly he had a right to be. He was going to stick up for his player there.

Getting these wins after facing adversity constantly this season is very rewarding. Hope the committee appropriately evaluates what this team is when they are healthy. Hope we can see that next week with Morez. Way to finally get that home win in the marquee matchup! Has felt long overdue.

I want to give credit where it's due ... Would have been SO EASY to quit and pack it up after getting absolutely obliterated against Duke ...

This team came together ... We are seeing the best version of Tre White (what I like to call summer Tre) and the best version of Ben tonight ...

Get Morez back in the fold ... We will be cooking with gas ...

My one negative tonight ... The defense ... Hamer has GOT TO GO ... And that is all I will say about that ... Do not want that one negative to outweigh all the positive tonight ...

We play D really hard. But we can't seem to defend the pick and roll. Purdue and all other opponents just shred our defense. Purdue, off their P&R must have scored about 150 points on drives to the rim. On the other hand, our opponents always stifle our P&R by overplaying (cutting off) our dribbler.

Lol, I couldn't watch live... How bad was the game thread at the end of our 0 of 10 run on 3 pointers? 😂

That and letting Smith get 3 unguarded 3s off in the final minute. Thank goodness he choked.
Smith can get unguarded threes any time he wants. His speed and ball handling are ELITE. In my opinion the reason Smith missed his last threes was due to tired legs. He handles the ball most of each possession and KB made him work very hard by sticking to him as long as possible. Plus, his last threes were taken in transition before their offense was set and before any defender could get to him.

Kylan has really been putting it together down the stretch. He has come a long way figuring out how to use his quickness and strength to get to the rim and finish or make plays for others. I'm so excited to see what he brings as the leader of the team next year, especially if he can get his 3 point shot back.
