This is why I don’t watch those two hot take/clickbait merchants.Greg & Carter both said we’d lose. This is after Greg proclaimed we’d lose by 16 to UM…. Their recap video will be scrumptious

I feel the same way. The family went to the Indy Star with the story and from what I’ve read this morning, there haven’t been others to verify the claim. I want the university to do an investigation and if specific krush members did it, they should be banned from SFC.I’m not saying the accusations last night toward TKR’s family did happen or didn’t. I would think that in an arena that was largely full throat all night and those family members usually sit with the opposing teams traveling party, more from that group would’ve heard whatever bull!!!! came out, especially if it was directed towards a kid. Again I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but if it didn’t, it doesn’t much matter because it hit sports news and now us Illini fans are lumped into absolute nonsense. I would just think more would hear it and it would be pretty easy to locate the offender so we could cook that person.
I’ll probably get dragged for this, but I like the full story. Very, very unfortunate if true.
But it might be a good will gesture for the krush to pen a letter of apology to the family. TKR and his family are welcome in SFC, and without verbal Insults. He had one hell of a game last night. He was fun to watch. I’ve struggled to stop him.I feel the same way. If people were banned from college basketball arenas because they made verbal insults during a game, the stands would be empty. But it might be a good will gesture for the krush to pen a letter of apology to the family. Racially based stuff isn't excusable. I can see the argument that heckling is part of sport, but a line is crossed when you allow it to be racist. If people were banned from college basketball arenas because they made verbal insults during a game, the stands would be empty.
I'm sorry. Those guys are a riot. I'm there for the ridiculous banter with college basketball sprinkled in.This is why I don’t watch those two hot take/clickbait merchants.
Jason Benetti and Raftery together are an absolute joy to listen to. Benetti and Raftery living the good life the last 72 hours with doing the UConn-Marquette game Wednesday then Illinois-Purdue last night.Shoutout to the “no tariff on him!” line by the announcer when Will Riley made a 3. I was dying![]()
He said, that she said, that he said.......What a hack. Meanwhile, the nonexistent allegation has already traveled half-way round the world while the truth was lacing up its shoes.
I miss the Bennetti-Bill Walton combo.Jason Benetti and Raftery together are an absolute joy to listen to. Benetti and Raftery living the good life the last 72 hours with doing the UConn-Marquette game Wednesday then Illinois-Purdue last night.
Benetti plays the straight guy for his analysts to absolute perfection.
I’d love to know our 3pt % when it’s out of a kickout or dribble drive pass vs coming with no passes in a possession- I think it’s a huge difference and we get in a rut of just settling for threes a lot without attacking the rim first. That simple stat will tell you all you need to knowI'll try to change the subject.
if my math is correct, and I double checked, the last 3 games combined in the second half we are 22-49 for 45% from three. I did not total the final 10 mins of each game, but I think it's even better.
If we make the elite eight, or even the sweet sixteen, I’ll bet our thoughts of “what ifs” will be few and far between with having a young team and bad luck health wise. After some nice wins this season, including this one, I'm afraid I'm going to be looking back and saying "what if"
I did not expect’leave smith wide open from 3’ to be the end of game winning strategy.Disappeared in the biggest moments ... Absolute![]()

Same here. And it's crazy when you think about the Purdue players average NCAA experience, which I'm sure is 2+, maybe 3 years on average and compare it to ours which is 1?. That's my go to thought when I get overly depressed about our losses/bad play. It makes me feel a little better when I realize we are just a bunch of (oft injured & sick) NCAA newbies, and still kicking butt!I'll cop to watching 38 minutes of last night's game and at no time having faith that we would win, until Ben nailed that trey to get us within one. Although they are our bitter rival, I thoroughly enjoy watching Purdue play, and listening to Painter's postgame pressers. He's a Hall of Fame coach and so articulate about strategy, the game, and managing his players. All evening long I kept telling myself that Purdue was just better than us. Executed well underneath, denied us offensive boards. Scored consistently. Were more seasoned, with Smith, TKR, and Loyer having three seasons of top-caliber performance in the conference under their belts. Shot much better than we did. Smith penetrating and dishing or scoring is a thing of beauty. Etc..
It was GLORIOUS!!!Every time we'd narrow the 7-10 point gap to a bucket or so, and even when we pulled ahead under 10, I just didn't believe we would sustain it, particularly without Rez and with Ben having to spell Tomi on TKR. Purdue just gets these things done, even on the road in an environment such as the AH.
And then we just put the hammer down in the final three mins, went on that 16-3 run, and buried them.
Preach! That's why I love this game, as I've done for well over 50 years, and this team. Volatility born of growth and resilience. We're young but talented and gelling at the right time. The Michigan and Purdue games have put some swagger in us, and I dig that going into the BTT. The next couple weekends will be great fun. If we make it past the first weekend of the Dance we're playing with a stack of house money.
I was right there with you brother! My trip overall was fantastic! But those 3 hours were BRUTAL! It was great to finally see a game in MSG. It is truly a sports shrine! I hope to get to another game there soon. I'd love to see us schedule a game there every other year or so. Is a B1G tournament scheduled to be there in the near future? Two weeks ago this evening I sat in MSG and watched Duke absolutely destroy us. Six days ago I sat in Crisler and watched us pound Michigan into the ground in the 2H. And now here we are. What a 14-day swing. Keep it going, boys. We love no other.
