Yeah, this reads like a lot of folks don't pay much attention.

I think post Purdue we might see some err..movement.
I think we can still beat NW. I think we would have lost to Purdue regardless. And how much are you gonna punish the #9 team losing to the #1 team on the road?? Little if any.

If we drop both, then yeah you’ll start seeing voters plummet us.

I think NW will be a really good game that we can win. I think TSJ not being on the team moves this from a top 10 team to reasonably 20:40 depending on if Morretti/DGL can contribute.

Purdue is a top 5 team and it would be a legitimately amazing upset if we win in WL w/ Big 10 refs spotting them 5 fouls.

The Athletic removed Illinois completely from their weekly rankings . Small mention in the “others”. People already doubting this team without TSJ.

I would put that on the wall for tomorrow night’s game at Purdue…. Hopefully they don’t need it.
I want them watching this clip the entire bus ride over

They dropped us two weeks ago (there were no power rankings last week).

I don't mind the approach. Taking the O & B glasses off and putting the Kool aid to the side, we need to let things play out a bit to make heads or tails of who/what this team is without TJ. This is an enormous test @ Purdue followed by a huge home game vs MSU. Those are the litmus tests. If we're a top 10 team, we win at least one. If we get handled in both, that'll give a little more clarity.

From an outsider looking in, if you remove a first team All American from your roster, presumably, you're not close to as good as you were....thus outside of the top 25.

If Purdue lost Edey unexpectedly, every one would leave them for dead, which again, is a reasonable response.

It's TBD whether the whole is greater fhan the sum of the parts with this group. Don't have enough data yet. Let's see what these next two games bring. The computer models will adjust accordingly.

A completely rational response, one which does not belong here on Loyalty! What the hell are you trying to do man?

In all seriousness, IMHO the polls (and the computer models) are supposed to reflect results after the early part of the season, not anticipated results. A drop in rankings for a top 10 team to say, the mid-teens would be defensible in this scenario, but to drop the team completely out of the Top 25 when all other voters have them in the Top 10 (plus or minus a few)? That's just idiotic.

I lost more brain cells watching this one clip than I did in all my nights at Kam's and Firehaus for 4 years combined
Some of the "big names" the Field of 68 has brought on recently are not good at, well, speaking.

Tyler Hansbrough, John Henson, Randolph Childress, and some others I've forgotten are not good at this line of work.

When they started, they had Hummel. It was pretty good then. Now I try to be selective with who they have pronosticating that night.
